Life in Alexandria had been better than most of the group expected. After the situation with Pete and Jessie, Reg's death, and Daryl and Aaron's return with Morgan, things finally started to get back to normal. That is of course what you consider normal at the end of the world. Deanna signed down, leaving her leadership to Rick while everyone else continued with their designated jobs. Things were turning out to be... good.

The alarm roared on as Rick groaned, turning over in his bed to push the snooze button for the third time this morning. He barely opened his eyes to check the time before he heard Judy's cries from down the hall. He pushed back the covers and rubbed at his still sleep filled eyes. Rick got up and quietly walked down the hall to the nursery. On the way he could see Daryl coming up the stairs with two coffee mugs, nodding his head, and closing himself off to the world behind a wooden door.
As Rick neared the infants room her cries got loader.
"Shh, I know, I know. What a cruel life." Rick responded to her howling.
She was obviously being very neglected at the moment, having woken up a whole two minutes before Rick.
"She's suffering." Rick heard a voice say behind him.
He turned around smiling as Michonne entered the room.
"Is daddy torturing you again?" she cooed taking Judith from Rick. "Awe the poor baby."
"Treat her like that and she'll never grow up" Rick teased.
"Very funny," Michonne responded. "Abraham and Maggie wanted me to remind you about the meeting. Since in your slumber you obviously forgot"
"Yeah," Rick chuckled "that's me, sleeping beauty."

"...if we can support that here, it'll hold a lot better against a herd." Abraham explained.
"Or a group. It'll be easier to defend" Maggie offered
"Speaking of groups, W, what's the news on that?" Rick asked
Morgan, Aaron and Daryl had all come in for the meeting. Purposely for this discussion
Looks were exchanged between them before Morgan spoke.
"Rough group, I only came face to face with two but, I was told there were more."
"Wouldn't be surprised. That little welcome wagon they greeted us with couldn't've been put up with jus' two of em." Daryl said.
"Is there really anything we can do about it though? I mean, is it even safe to go hunting people if we don't even know where they are?" Aaron asked
"Nah, ain't safe at all" Daryl responded.
"So just wait? See if they some," Maggie offered
"Yeah, I think that's our best bet. No need to go chasing ghost" Rick said
"Anything else?"When no one responded Rick dismissed the meeting, reminding everyone on a time for tomorrow.

When Rick went back outside, he was surprised to find Daryl leaning against the wall, smoking.
"You look awful." Rick commented with a smile
"Yeah, didn't get much sleep."
They both laughed to Daryl's response.
"When you going back out?"
Daryl shook his head, "No time soon"
"Good, it's good to have you home."
And before Daryl could respond there was a loud whistle. One that they all knew meant a warning from the guard tower.
"What is it?!"
Sasha simply nodded her head in the direction of the now opening gate.
Rick could see very quickly what it was. The feeling in his stomach let him know very much so that the situation was not a welcomed one.
Not because of the six people walking into the gate.
No.
Not even because of the nature, of these six people. They all wore black, and were dirt, but not nearly as dirty as Rick's group had been. There were four men, in this group of six.
The first man was a handsome man, grey hair, late 40's early 50's, tall, strongly built, wielding a sword. One unlike Michonne's.The other, much younger, had dark hair, also handsome, as they all were, held firmly in his hand a spear. The third man was huge. Very tall, very muscular. He was dark skinned and had a shaved head, he stood a good 5 inches taller than all the others. He had no weapon in his hands, but two axes strapped to his back. The last man, had a bit of a surly attitude about him. He was young, early 30's to mid 20's. This one had a baseball bat, wrapped in barbed wire, leaning against his shoulder.
There were two women. Only two. The first was dark skinned, fit, strong. Obviously skilled with the bow and arrow she possessed. And the second...was young. Very young, barely of the legal age. She had a pretty face, a strong build, and had a belt of knives, ones made for throwing.
No these six people were not what threatened Rick. What did was the fact that all of these weapons, and not a single one was raised. All hands were shown in surrender, excluding the man who rested his hand on the bat.
And what frightened Rick the most was not any of this, but the fact that, if you looked closely you could see it.
Each and every one of them wore it.
A smile.
