７「 Human lifes are in our hands 」

[A/N: I forgot to write in a chapter that Y/N made a dress for her using some things she found in the forest, I'm so sorry! I updated chapter 4 and wrote that.]

I start to listen to their conversation again when something Tsukasa said caught my attention.

"What about Y/N? Is she sick?"

"Well, actually, I don't think so."

"...Hm. Alright, just remember, if you find out she is sick or something, do it."

Do it...?

So they have been planing on... kill me or something like that. This is just one more reason for me to run away from this place. I knew i couldn't trust them...

Okay, I need a plan. I can't just run away and hope everything would work.

Before I start thinking on something to do, I try to go back to where I was sleeping without making too much noise. Hopefully nobody heard me.

I carefully lay on the ground. Ugh, it's so cold... As I hear their footsteps getting closer, I close my eyes and pretend to be asleep. Now, I start planning everything in my head.

First, I need to find the perfect moment to get out of here without nobody noticing. I will wait until Tsukasa and Gen get back and then I'll try to escape.

No, actually... It may be better fot me to try tomorrow. I'm tired and walking alone in the forest at night is not the best option, not when you are just a weak girl.

Ok stop. No time to get depressive and insult my self now. Focus, Y/N.

Now, Gen is the easy one, the problem here is Tsukasa...

After I escape, I need to know where to go. My goal is to find Senku, but I don't think it will be so easy, and I'm pretty sure it will take more than one day. So I need a place to stay and make sure I'll survive. Fortunately, there is a village not so far from here, so maybe I could go and ask them for help.

How will I find food? Well, I can look for some fruits in the forest, and for water I just need to find a lake. That shouldn't be so hard.

I need to look for hints so I can make some theories about the petrification.

Alright, I'm pretty sure this won't work, but I won't give up.

I was so determinated to runaway and find Senku that I forced myself to sleep, so when I wake up I would have enough energy to think, theorize and especially run.

The next day

As the next day finally arrives, I wake up determined.

I noticed the serious face I was making. Come on, Y/N. Someone will notice something is wrong if you keep this expression. Lemme just...

I make myself look sad and depressed, so it looks like I haven't changed anything.

Yeah, that's better.

After what I think it was more than a thousand years of the humanity being petrificated...

...This is the day I will finally do something. Not only for me, but for everyone.

"Oi, why aren't you coming with us?!"

"WHAT THE-" I jumped and screamed as I heard this voice that I do not recognize. I turn to see who it was, and there was standing one of the guys who lived here.
I ended up not even answering him, due to Gen appearing first.

"Aaah, Y/N-chan!! I see you woke up!" He looks to the man standing there with that creepy face. "Don't worry, I'll take care of her, you can go." And then looked back at me, who was confused and anxious as always.

I stared at him, who was waiting for the guy to leave. As he did, Gen got closer to me and as always, I keep distance.

"Sooo, you're confused, aren't you?" He asked me.

"...Yeah, what's happening?"

"Tsukasa and the others are going to look for someone, and we need to go too."

"Oh. Who is it?"

"I don't really know, but it's a guy who will be really helpful to us. Now, let's go, or else Tsukasa is going to get mad with us!" He says smiling.

"Okay... I'll go with them." Not that I really have an option to be honest.

We started walking in the direction of the entrace.

So Tsukasa is going to look for more people to help him...

If I'm going to escape, I have to make sure no one will get in my way, and maybe I would have to fight someone.

But I don't have any weapons...

I look around and stop walking when I see something interesting. I got closer and...

"It's a stalagmite! This is a rock that rises from the floor because of the material deposited on the floor from ceilling drippings... It's really cool, I never thought I would actually enter in a cavern and see one." I started mumbling. "These are... ice stalagmites? No no, they're limestone stalagmites, right? They're sharper than what I imagined... They're form thought deposition of calcium carbonate and other minerals!"

"The hell ya doing? Let's go!" I hear Gen's voice and noticed what I was doing.

"I'm coming!" I say not even looking at him. As I noticed his back was facing me and nobody could see me, I try to break one of the stalagmites on the ground and hide on the pocket I had inside my dress. Jeez, it's really uncomfortable to walk with this thing, but it's ok. This thing might be useful to me. Or maybe not.

As I finish picking up this stalagmite, I run to reach Gen and the others and I pretend I've always been there.

While I was walking, I started looking to the sky. This blue color is really pretty. I can see some birds flying around, like it was just another normal day. I remember when I used to go to school in the morning, with that sad face. And what made my day better was listening to the birds singing. Arrive at school and be greeted by Yuzuriha or Taiju, go to the science club and get help from Senku... I wish I had enjoyed those days more. If I knew that all this was going to happen... I would make my life different. But now there is no turning back, unfortunately.

But there was a reason why I acted that way.
