Drifted

Chapter 1

They promised.
They promised I'll be fine from now on.
They lied.
Straight to my ugly face.

I was seated on a hard chair and above that was a flickering light. You would hear the beeping noises from my parents hospital rooms. The sound of heavy feet rushing across the floor, Inside and out of rooms, made my heart beat faster and faster at every step a person took. The only person sitting in the hallway of the hospital was me. I'm only 5 years old and today is my mum and dads anniversary.

•••••5 hours before•••••

I woke up at the crack of dawn and I was pumped. My Mum and Dads wedding anniversary is today and that means I get to make a special breakfast in bed for them.

I love my parents. They are like my bestfriends when my other friends aren't around. Along the years, My parents have been just the perfect bestfriend. I'll always love them!

I walk out of my room and continue to walk straight to the kitchen. I struggle to get the toaster down so I climb onto the kitchen bench. My Dad actually taught me how to make breakfast due to the times they wake up really late.

I finish my master piece and placed the food and drinks onto a tray. I knock on mum and dad's bedroom door and they don't answer. I walk in and place the food on the bedside table. I slowly grab onto mums blankets and pull myself up onto the bed as I'm pretty short.

"Mummy. Daddy? Wake up" I say in my childish voice

I could see the smiles on their faces as they rose from their sleep. i placed my pointed finger onto the tray of food. It was nice to see them smiling for something that I've done. See I'm not the type of girl who is good all the time. I make a mess. I make the house shake and I'm loud, but they still love me 😊

I gave mum and dad time To eat their food. They said today they will take me to adventure world! I'm so excited!!!!!

Rushing Into my room, I knock nearly everything in my way. I push the door open as hard as I can And searched for clothes. I undress myself and then continue to dress myself in a new pair of clothes.

"Ashlyn! Time to go there's about a 2 hour drive there." My Dad yells out to me
"I'm coming right now" I said while running to him.

Dad picks me up and carries me to the car. As I'm placed in my seat mum tells me about adventure world and my jaw keeps dropping. ITS AMAZING!

Dead silence as we drove away from the house was weird. I find that when everyone's quiet something is going to happen. Like I mean something out of the ordinary.

"Look over there Ashlyn there's sheeps!" Mum says as she drives her attention the them.
"Katherine watch out!!"
