The Invisible Smiling Girl

Who is this girl with the rainbow personality?
Is she someone you met down the street?
No, she is the girl you don't usually see.
The one in the corner with a warm smile of glee

She's the one who nobody notices.
The one who is invisible in all the places.
The one who you don't bother to learn the name.
Cause you know she isn't special that way.

But if she isn't there you feel the slight despair.
You feel a little less happy because there is one less smile shared.
There is a light she brings that no one notices.
The kind that leaves you a little hopeful.
The kind you never care about till it's gone but little do they know what it costs.

They don't know the girl they only see her around .
She is just another face in the crowd.
She smiles bright and talks sweet.
But no one sees the torment that flows deep beneath.

She smiles and acts like everything is okay.
She does what society demands of us all.
A picture perfect porcelain doll who will never be enough because,
She knows she isn't pretty enough.

She has no talents to show, no hand to hold
They don't see that she can no longer feel
All you see is the pearly white teeth.
You will never see the pain .
The numbing silence that slices through her brain.

She is one among a crowd just another girl with a happy look.
Nobody knows that she has wisdom past her age .
Forced to grow up at a quicker pace.

You will see her laugh and cry but what you don't know is that she does it because it's what is required.
She mechanically goes about her day little do they know she's about to break away.

She's hanging on for dear life but instead of using her depleting strength to fix herself she uses it for only one thing.

To give the brightest smile of them all to be the nicest one to talk to who won't
judge your faults.

The one who brightens up your day in the smallest way.
Because she knows how it feels to be forgotten .
To long for a simple smile even if it's only for a second.

She will be the girl she longed to have had .
The girl who was the reason you never felt to sad .
The girl who always made you little happy.
The one who gave you a little hope in your sad story.
