•••Sarah's POV•••
After the park we all piled up in Hunters old pick up truck. I was in the middle of the two boys. "Let's go get some food." Hunter said pulling out into the Main Street. We drove down the road the radio playing Johnny Cash quietly. My hand was resting on the seat. "So where do yall wanna eat?" Hunter asked. "Anywhere is fine with me." I said. "Yeah, I don't care." Jake said with his southern accent strong. A moment later he took a hint and laced his fingers in mine. Butterflies were in my stomach as I fought back a huge grin. After a minute or two we pulled into a Wendy's parking lot. We all hopped out of the truck and headed into the restaurant. Once we ordered Jake offered to pay. After we got our food we sat down at a table with our burgers and fries. We got into pretty deep conversation about what life would be like without toes when our friend Nicole came in. We invited her to sit down. "No it's fine." She said with a worried expression. "Are you sure?" Hunter asked. "Yeah, I'm sure." She said backing out of the restaurant. "Well that was weird." I say before eating a fry. "Yeah." Jake said. Once we finished up our food we left and drove to Jakes house. Jake hopped out of the truck. "Bye." He said waving at us. We waved back. As we were pulling out he looked at me, smiled, and then winked before disappearing into his house.
