*DEMI*
"You cheated!" I shouted pointing at Luther from across the table. I was so sure I saw him move. Luther and I were playing chess around the patio with April referring the game.
"I did no such thing!" Luther exclaimed waving his finger in the air.
"Come on, you totally saw that April!" I said sipping the orange juice that Juanita brought us minutes ago.
"I blinked, I'm sorry thus my conclusion is inaccurate," she laughed.
"I think we should have allowed Brandon to ref this game instead," I said looking at Brandon chasing Patricia arms in the air as he pretended to be a monster. Patricia squealed excitedly as she ran away laughing from him. "Wow he is really great with kids."
"The guy actually wants us to have six children in future, SIX! He is crazier than i thought," laughed April.
"So you actually see yourself having a future with this guy?" My brother was ever protective.
"More or less but mostly on the more," giggled April. It was nice to see my siblings finally happy.
"Uh-oh" April froze beside me. "Demi, don't look now but look now."
"What does that even mean?" I asked following her gaze to the approaching figure of Oliver.
I groaned. Seriously? The guy could not take a hint.
"Do you want me to make him leave? I can make him leave-"
"No. I will handle this," I said stopping Luther mid-stand. As much as I was angry at Oliver, I still wanted to see him. I loved the idiot for goodness sake.
I watched as his tall and lean figure approached us. April squeezed my hand reassuringly and I smiled at her. I mentally smacked myself for losing the connection we siblings had years ago. I was really going out of my way to rekindle our connection and I guessed I deserved it.
"Hey...guys... I was hoping to speak to Demi privately?" It was more of a request. Luther stood abruptly from his seat startling me and made direct eye contact with Oliver standing dangerously close to him. I could almost see his ears and nose fuming.
"It's okay Luther," I said calmly. He lingered there for a while before he pushed past Oliver making him stumble.
"I'll be in the house if you need anything," April said glancing at Oliver then leaving.
"Your siblings are very protective of you," he said shifting his weight uncomfortably on his feet.
"What's your point?"
"I know that I hurt you Demetria and I want to change that. I miss you," he cooed. I bit my inner cheeks hard. I knew that one glance at him would have made me emotionally challenged.
"So you only came back because you missed me?" I was trying to make this harder for him but it only hurt me more.
"It's not like that and you know it. Are you that willing to give up five years of what we had? You know me Demetria, better than anyone, hell even better than myself. You know me and understand me. Please do not throw all that away. I will do anything literally anything."
