Harry POV

Roxanne sent me a cold look before walking off with the other guards. It made me nervous, she only gives me that look when she's pulling away from me or about to do something dangerous. I watched as she trailed away my heart yearning to follow her. Hopefully, things will get better now that I'm back. I watched Alaister swing his arm around her shoulders and she let him. I felt a surge of jealousy as I tore my eyes away from them.

"Harry?" Veronica whispered giving me teary eyes that almost broke my heart. "Can... Can we talk?" I nodded and followed her towards the castle once we were in an empty hallway she started to sob. "Harry... I'm... I'm so sorry." She wept and embraced me as she cried into my shoulder. I patted her back awkwardly not sure what to do. "I never should have broken up with you. I miss you, Harry." I pulled her away so I can look her in her face

"Veronica," I spoke gently trying not to upset her more. "I'm with Roxanne now."

"It's cause she's the Princess isn't it?" She sobbed. I looked at her surprised.

"No, do you think so little of me?" I asked slightly hurt by the thought.

"Of course not, I just don't understand, Harry. Don't you love me still?" She looked up at me hopefully.

"I will always love you, Veronica. You were my first. But I am in love with Roxanne." I watched as she looked so torn. "Veronica, maybe it looks so bad now but you'll find someone whose better for you." She nodded sadly.

"I only broke up with you because you were leaving Harry. Don't forget that." She whispered before running off down the hall still crying. I sighed feeling guilty.

"You know if you hurt her I will kill you right?" I jumped at the sudden sound of his voice. I looked at him in shock. How much did he hear? As if Collins read my thoughts he answered. "Everything."

"I wouldn't hurt her." I promised.

"I hope not I was just starting to like you." Collins patted me on the shoulder before continuing down the hall. I entered into the office and bowed to King Vargas before taking the seat he offered to me.

"Come in! Come in!" Noah exclaimed. "You are like a son to me Harry no need for all those pleasantries." I smiled at him. He has been like a father to me after my dad had passed. "So how did your training go? As well as you hoped?"

I nodded. "It was very informational. I got to see a lot of the area." He grinned nodding excitedly.

"Did you find what you were looking for?" I nodded. "Good we are all excited for you."

"Thank you, Noah. I just hope Roxanne takes it that way too." I said nervously. "I was surprised to see Veronica was back." He groaned, he never liked her.

"As soon as she heard you were coming home. Don't get any ideas though, Harry, she's engaged to that Duke still." Noah warned. Engaged? But she just..... My thoughts trailed off as he continued. "Anyway, you are dating my daughter. And I'd threaten you but from what I've heard she'd do a better job of it." I nodded grinning like a fool. I really do love my black-haired gun-totting beauty.

"Roxanne isn't so bad when you get to know her." I reassured. He sighed.

"We haven't gotten through much. Things have gone better since we let her have her weapons back." I nodded.

"She does like that extra security."  I agreed.

"She told my wife that she heard her nanny was assassinated. We thought it was better for her family that way. She died trying to protect our child versus her killing herself." He looked doubtful.

"Her family is Catholic, sir. They frown on suicide." He nodded already knowing that.

"Any thoughts on how to get closer to my daughter, Harry?" He gave me a lost look.

"Honestly, I couldn't tell you." I thought about our first interactions of her standing up for me and trying to walk me to my dorm. She got irritated with me all the time, but she never left my side. "Once she decides she likes you though, she sticks with you." He smiled at me before dismissing me.

.....

Collins POV

"Your safe though?" I asked Rebecca for the millionth time. She went quiet for a while.

" Look, Collins..." She trailed off. "I don't think we should continue to see each other. I mean it was great when we were together, but I don't see a future with us." I felt my heartbreak.  "I'm getting homeschooled now. Your home with your sister in Germany. When will we ever see each other again?"

I knew she was right, but it just pissed me off that she was giving up. I went to throw my phone against the wall, but instead, it went out the window. "just my luck." I muttered to myself.

I walked out and down the hall to see if my phone somehow survived when I heard a familiar voice.

"Don't worry I'll do it." I heard Veronica's voice. I peeked around the corner to see her on the phone. She scoffed at something the other person said. "I know him, trust me it won't last long." With that, I took off. I knew she was trouble.
