Chapter 1

"Miss, its time for dinner" Elli said, knocking on the door once more.

"Coming!" I said hurriedly while putting my books on top of the desk beside my bed.

I looked at the mirror and noticed how messy my face was. I got to the bathroom and washed my face.

"Miss, everyone's waiting for you" Elli said, which made me face-palm myself.

"Teka lng!"I hurriedly said and brushed my long wavy hair one more time before going towards the door.

"Oh no! Pagagalitan nanaman 'ko nito!" Patakbo 'kong sabi.

"Bat kasi ngayon pa!"

Someone stopped me from running.
Inis kong tiningnan ang humila sa' kin.

"Miss, where are you going?" She said with confusion plastered on her face.

"To the dining room! Asan pa ba?" I said.

"If that's the case then you're going in the wrong direction, Miss"

Holding my hand, she guided me to the dining room

"Pasesnya na, I paniked. I didn't notice I was going in the wrong direction" I sigh.

Elli, still holding my hands gave me a glance.

"Its okay, Miss" She said calmly.

I sigh before hearing noises. Before I knew it, Elli wasn't holding my hands anymore. I also noticed I was facing everyone.

My Three little brothers was talking to each other--well loudly. My older brother was talking to my father. My Mom was saying something to my little sister, but all she did was nod while looking at her food.

Everyone's here.

My mother noticed me first and waved at me.

"Cassy! You're finally here!" She said cheerfully.

Because of that everyone started to look at my direction.

Except for my dad.

"Uhh...uhm G-good evening?" I said.

"Is that a question, young lady?" My dad said while putting food on his plate.

"Uhhm no....dad"

My dad looked at me and raised his right eyebrows.

I began to panicked. What do I do? I'm pretty sure he's going to scold me again.

"Why are you late?" He asked.

Is this a meeting? I really don't get why he doesn't like when one of us is late whenever we do dinner together.
I mean if its about us skipping this kind of event then he has a right to be mad but late? Na ah.

"I was reading the whole afternoon.. and forgot it was already seven." I manage to said without stuttering.

He nodded and didn't said anything.

"C'mon, Adriel. Its ok to be late once in a while. Go on sweetheart have a sit"

My mom said eyeing the chair beside my little sister. I nodded and sit beside my sister.

"She was late last time" My father reasoned out.

My mom shake her head and said nothing.

My three brothers began to talk loudly again and everyone began to eat.

This atmosphere....

I looked at beside me and saw my little sister looking at me.

I smiled to her and she retured it with a giggle.

"Hello, bunso. How are you today? Made new friends?" I asked while putting food in my mouth.

"I'm fine and I didn't made friends" Tugon nito habang kumakain.

"You didn't? why?" I asked her confused.

My little sister is not the friendly type but she's not rude--well sometimes.

"They were very irritating to be friends with." She shrugged then focused on her food.

My sister can be rude sometimes but you'll understand why she would be. She's also very smart for a seven years old spoiled kid.

Natawa ako sa sinabi niya. I think it was a little bit too much because I caught my silent older brother and father looking at me.

Mom and the trios didn't because they were still talking so loudly.

I made a peace sign to lighten up the mood. My brother smiled a little bit while my father just looked at me weirdly.

Because of that I laughed again so hard that my mom and the trios began to notice.

"Ate, you're too loud" Said Adi.

"Yeah right, like you three didn't talk so loudly just a while ago." My older brother, Christian said.

"We were interacting with each other! Not like you kuya." One of the trios-lucas said while making a face.

"Don't tease your kuya, anu ba kayo" My mom made a shoo sign to the trios.

"But they're right on one thing, Christian..... Please do interact with people"

The trios laughed while my father and Eliza-my little sister did a face-palm.

"I'm interacting, what do you mean, mom?" My brother now being a little bit embarrassed because of the teasing.

My mom giggled and I laughed.

This is the atmosphere I want.

"Ate, can I have your strawberries?" Aden, also one of the trios and I think the smartest and most calm in their group.

"Sure"

Binigay ni Aden sa'kin yung plato so I can put there the strawberries. After that I gave it back to him.

"Thank you" He said and continue to eat.

My mom, Adi and Lucas are still teasing my older brother making me laugh again.

The dinner once again ended with a big smile pasted on our faces. Even my father was laughing.

Masaya kong tinahak ang daan papuntang kwarto ko. I was kinda sleepy so I have no time to finish the book that I was reading before.

Yawning I opened the door to my room and saw Elli standing beside the desk.

"Elli?" I asked confused on why she's here.

Shocked was seen on her face as she turned to look at me.

"What are you doing here?"

"I uhh.. was cleaning your room, miss"

It was weird. They do cleaning in the morning but it was almost midnight.

"Its almost midnight" she bit her lips. A sign that she's nervous but why would she? I was the observant type that's why know that kind of trait of hers.

My mind was almost shutting down. I want to sleep.

"Miss, I--" She was about to say something but I ignored her and went to my bed.

"I'll talk to you tomorrow, Elli. I can't today. Too tired. I want sleep. Goodnight" I said and not even minutes later I began to fall asleep.

I don't know if I was still awake or was just dreaming but I heared someone said...

"I'm sorry.."
