Chapter 22
Today was a new day. Today was going to be different. Today I'm going to man up and tell Talen how I feel. Today, everything is going to change.
I stared myself in the mirror and straightened out my hair and outfit. I took a huge breathe and exhaled slowly, blinking multitude of times, just thinking of what today will bring.
"Kora, you ready?" Nina peaked her head in. She left 20 minutes ago to go get breakfast. "I brought you some S'more Pancakes and Chocolate Milk." Nina's mom always used to make S'more pancakes when I slept over. They were the best but nothing could compare to my moms blueberry pancakes.
"Thank you Nina." I smiled but my smile ran away after I looked myself back in the mirror.
"Are you going through with this? Because if it doesn't end up the way you want I don't want you to just throw away everything that you have already built." I took a breathe and nodded again.
I turned around to face Nina and smiled. Butterflies surfaced in my stomach. My hands reached for the table of food and brought it over to my mini desk in the back of my room, near the balcony.

I finished eating and took my dirty dishes downstairs. I walked into the kitchen and Talen stood there just staring at me. I tried to pace my breathing but he could see through it.
I brought my plates over to dish washer and loaded it. Once i closed it, I turned around and he was gone. I placed my hands behind my on the counter and breathed out. I didn't realized that I was holding my breathe.

Nina and I walked to school..and yes..it was sooooooo cold. You would of thought California would of been a little bit warmer but no, it feels cold hearted today.
Nina and I walked into homeroom and Mr. Jones was lecturing about being late to homeroom.
"Speaking of, why are you two late?" Mr. Jones snapped.
I leaned over and whispered into Nina's ear, "Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed."
"More like who's bed did he wake up from." Nina responded.
"Stop whispering! Why were you two late?" I shrugged and sat down at my normal seat. Mr. Jones walked up right in front of me and bent down right in front of my face.
Now, this annoyed me. The door opened and closed but I didn't see who walked in late. Mr. Grumpy Pants didn't seem to care either.
I looked down at my feet. "Get out of my face." I said clenching my fist. Christian did this to me, constantly every day and sooner or later I punched him but that resulted worse for me.
"Does this bother you?" He leaned in closer and i picked my head up to stare him straight in the eyes. Fury raged through me.
"Get. Out. Of. My. Face." My clenched fist banged on top of the desk causing Mr. Jones to jump. He still never moved. I stood up, not breaking eye contact. After I stood up, he did the same.
"I am older than you, I am smarter than you, and I am the boss of you and you will do what I tell you to do." Christian always told me to do things and that didn't end up well for him.
"I am warning you now, get out of my face, or I will make you do it myself."
"Yeah, I've heard that before."
"Now I think it's time for you to witness it." My left fist came up and uppercutted to the ribs. He bent over in pain and I took advantage of that. I kneed him in the stomach twice and threw him into this huge circle of empty desks.
