Christian's POV
Days passed. It was time that we all leave for our destination, i.e., New York City. We were all going by the same flight. Me, Blaire, Sophia, Duncan, Austin and Isabella. You can't imagine the pain of being stuck between your girlfriend who doesn't remember you and your ex - girlfriend's lookalike. Thank God she didn't take business major.
Melody was driving the car while I , Blaire and Sophia were engulfed with silence. The other were just behind in another car. I glanced at Sophia and she squeezed my hand reassuring that everything will be alright. I nodded to that and looked out of the window, thinking about random stuff like the time difference and the busy streets, the hustling of daily life and those beautiful white sand beaches. I liked the way I have grown close to Sophia and Duncan in the past year. On the other hand, I have lost people. I lost James and didn't see Jasemine after that horrific night. I almost lost Blaire too.
While I was thinking all these and Sophia was busy scrolling through her Instagram feed, Blaire was busy reading a detailed guide about New York. She gulped down almost every information she got on Google, I guess.
“Blaire, honey,” Melody uttered softly and she looked up from that book thing she was reading.
“These people are your closest. I hope you have bonded with them over these days. Try to think each of them as your friend,” age advised.
Blaire narrowed her eyes to extreme level and turned towards me. She met my eyes with a glint of warning and rapidly turned her head back again.
“Sure. I'll try,” she replied softly like a good obedient daughter.
Soon we reached the airport. Blaire's parents bid farewell to us. Before we finally went in, Robert hugged me and said,“You've got a second chance, young man. Don't lose it”. He patted on my shoulder and let me go. Meanwhile, Blaire was hugging Melody and was sharing an emotional scene. In the end, Melody said ,“New York is different than LA. Although I don't want to let you go yet I have to. I don't have any right to hold you back from your dreams and achievements”.
“Promise to call me, everyday,” Melody chided in the end.
“ I promise, mom. I'll miss you. Take care,” Blaire replied with a sad smile.
“Princess,” Robert called.
“Yes, dad,” Blaire wrapped her arms around him.
Robert kept his hand on her head and said,“ I know you'll do very well. Just be strong. Remember, weakness isn't an option”.
Blaire nodded and whispered,“ I love you guys and will miss you”.
After a few more minutes if conversation , waving hands and goodbyes, we finally proceeded inside. With everything done, we finally boarded the flight. It was almost midnight by then. We settled in our seats. My seat was beside Austin's who was terrified by his window seat while on the other hand Blaire wanted a window seat no matter what but Sophia was reluctant on giving it up. The mini quarrel was pretty much baseless to me as hardly anybody would be wide awake during the journey.
“ My dear cousin, would you like to take mine?” Austin offered his seat.
“Yes, yes yes,” Blaire replied in excitement.
But all her excitement drained, once she saw me.
“No, my dear cousin. Keep it to yourself,” she replied copying his tone.
“Please Blaire, do me this favour. You know my enemity with flights, let alone window seats,” he huffed.
“Exchange it with your partner,” Blaire suggested, looking at me.
