It has been about 1 month since Peter met the Avengers. He wasn't a stuttering mess in front of the superheroes, but still has a habit of calling them 'Mr' and 'Ms', despite the number of times the Avengers insisted that Peter call them by their first names.
Today, Peter was in the living room watching Star Wars while leaning on Tony, when FRIDAY interrupted their movie.
"Sir, there is an incoming call from Director Fury. Accept or decline?" FRIDAY asked. Tony sighed dramatically. "Answer, FRI."
The AI hummer a reply and the movie was replaced with Fury's face. "Stark. Call the team."
Tony called out to FRIDAY. "You heard the pirate, FRI."
Soon, the whole team was gathered in the living room. Fury immediately started talking without even sparring a glance at the others. Fury just fixed his gaze on Tony, and said, "Avengers, I have a mission for you. It is your first mission as a team after 'Civil War', I hope you can cooperate. Your mission: Catch Spiderman."
Steve stared at Fury in surprise. "Spiderman? Who's he?"
Sam snorted. "You don't know? He's just dude swinging around queens helping people. It's gonna be an easy mission."
"Sam, if it's an easy mission, why would Fury ask for our help? He can always get some SHIELD agents to do so." Natasha said.
"Exactly, Agent Romanoff. I have sent my best agents to get him but he always escapes. As the Avengers, you should be able to catch him. A file will be sent to you. Fury out." Fury ended the call.
A 'ping!' was heard minutes later. Tony put it up on hologram screen so the whole team can read it.
Spiderman
Age: Unknown
Identity: Unknown
Info: Often seen around Queens, sometimes near the Avengers' Tower (Yes tower)Upon seeing the file, Steve commented, "We sure don't know much about this Spider-guy."
"FRI, alert us if Spiderman's out." Tony instructed.
"Done, boss." Was the reply.
Peter's POV:
Oh shit. I'm dead. I know it. Fury just gave an order to catch me, Spiderman. Yeah, sure, I've been dodging SHIELD Agents for a while, I just thought they were the lower ranking agents. I mean, they were so easy to avoid!
I had no idea that they were SHIELD's best agents, and that Fury was willing to send the Avengers to track me. What was I gonna do? Should I let the Avengers take me? No. I'm gonna be in so much trouble if Dad and the Avengers found out.
"-ter. Peter!" Dad's voice snapped me back into reality.
"Huh?" I asked, confused.
"You zoned out, Pete. You 'kay?" Dad asked, clearly concerned.
I nodded my head. "Ye-yeah Dad. I'm fine. Can I go to my lab?" I asked.
Dad agreed, and I left.
In the labs, I tinkered for a while, until FRIDAY told me it was time for dinner. I got up and went to the dining room, greeting the Avengers with a small, "Hey."
Steve smiled at me kindly before handing me a plate of food. I accepted it, and despite the number of times Steve cooked for us, I still can't believe that the super soldier could cook. Yummy food, too.
Dinner was filled with chatter, mostly the Avengers thinking on how to catch Spider-man. I ate my food in silence, listening to their conversations, in case that I have an sudden meet with them.
After dinner, I would usually go for patrol, but I couldn't risk it. Catching Spiderman was the Avengers mission now, and with the thought still fresh in mind, no doubt they could easily catch me.
I decided to do some homework instead, after I called Ned. I had to call my Guy In The Chair, to tell him the Avengers latest mission.
Ned answered and the first ring. "Hey, Peter! How are you doing?"
"I'm fine, Ned. Well, I guess I'm fine. Ned, the Avengers latest mission is to catch Spiderman! If they catch me, I'm dead!" I responded.
Ned's eyes opened in shock. "Wow. You probably have to stop patrol for a while, and maybe try to lay low." He suggested.
"Yeah. That's what I planed on doing. Well, I guess I have to do work now. Bye Ned, see you tomorrow!" After Ned said goodbye too, I hung up.
I tried to concentrate on my Chemistry homework, but my mind kept drifting to the Avengers mission. How can I go for patrol, and make sure the Avengers didn't catch me?
I gave up on doing my Chemistry homework, and decided to take a walk around the tower. I wasn't looking, so I bumped into someone. I fell to the floor with a "Oof!", the person who I bumped into doing the same. I glanced at the person, and realised that it was Natasha, AKA the Black Widow who can kill me in one second.
"Uhh, I'm so s-sorry Ms Romanoff I wasn't looking please don't kill me I'm so sorry!" I rambled, standing up and reaching out a hand. Natasha smiled and took it. "It's fine, Pete. I'm good. And besides, I told you to call me Nat, remember?"
I nodded. "Y-yeah, Ms R-I mean, uh Nat. I-I guess I'll be going." With that, I scampered off, back to my room.
I finally managed to finish my homework. I glanced at the clock, 11:00. This was usually earlier then when I sleep, but I was bored so I just decided to head to bed.
"FRI, lights off, please."
