Chapter 1

First day of class ngayon ng LU. Hindi ko alam kung maeexcite ba ako o kakabahan kasi hindi ko talaga napaghandaan ang araw na to. Iba talaga yung pakiramdam kapag college na parang nafifeel ko na yung kabigatan ng mundo.

"Ma! Aalis na ako! I might be late na" I grabbed my keys and hurried to my car and decided to play some tunes. This type of things really let me relax before I go on what I know would be a very stressful day. I turned left to grab some coffee from McDonald's because I just badly need one. Gamot na ata sa anxiety ko ang kape.

"Where the fuck do I park, lahat ata ng estudyante dito nakasasakyan shet malalate na talaga ako" at dahil sa pakikipag usap sa sarili ko, nakakita na din ako sa wakas ng parking spot though super layo lang sa gate pero keri na, may paa naman ako.

Naglakad na ako papasok, with some books and coffee in hand, I showed my ID to the guard and hurried to class. Pota, ang init tapos ang dami pang tao. Pinagdadasal ko na lang talaga na hindi ako mawala.

After 20 mins of looking around, I finally spotted my classroom. Shucks, wala akong kakilala but oh well, umupo na lang ako sa harap baka maging matalino na ako dahil dito pero syempre, char lang.

Habang naghihintay sa prof, tinapon ko yung coffee cup sa trash can sa harap at tsaka ko lang nakita ang scenario sa classroom. Ang dami naman pala namin at talagang makikita mo yung difference sa personalities ng bawat isa. Naagaw ng pansin ko yung mga tao sa harap. Ang cool naman nila, nakiupo pa talaga ako sa row nila hayy bahala na nga.

Umupo na ako at kinalabit naman ako ng katabi ko.

"Hi, I'm Zoe Natalie. You are? Nangangati na talaga akong magsalita eh. I'm from Dasma nga pala. Ikaw ba?"

"Hello, I'm Adi. Taga Dasma din. Looks like we're neighbors then." tas nginitian ko siya. Magsasalita pa sana si Zoe kaso pumasok na yung prof.

Looks like, I made myself a new friend.

After three days, tsaka lang namin narealize ni Zoe na blockmates kami along with the others sa row namin nung first day. After three days, I made a total of 4 friends. Hmm, not bad.

"Guys! Saan ba kayo after classes?" tanong ni Yohann. Si Yohann yung parang emo pero cool kid. Astig nga eh. He's always so enthusiastic and full of energy. Hirap nga tapatan minsan. Napaka hyper niya talaga. Hindi napapagod si koya.

"Baka sa dorm muna, pre. Takot ko lang sumama sayo" sagot naman ni Klyde. Si Klyde talaga yung katapat ni Yohann. Nakakatuwa nga silang dalawa panoorin eh. Magkasundo sa halos lahat pero naghahanap talaga si Klyde ng rason para barahin si Yohann. Parang mga ewan.

"Bakit? Saan mo ba gusto pumunta?" At yan naman si Trevon, go na go sa lahat. Tatlong araw ko pa lang siya nakikilala pero gusto ko na talaga yung straight forward nya na personality plus maganda pa boses. Kung hindi ko pa to naging kaibigan, maiinlove ako sa boses nito eh. Boses lang, hindi mukha. Hindi ko talaga type ang mukha ng foreigner nato.

"PUNTA TAYONG MALL!!!"

Napatalon kami ni Zoe.

"ABA! BA'T KAILANGAN SUMIGAW? BINGI BA KAMI??!!!" at yan naman, si Zoe. Si Zoe na yata ang bagong karamay ko sa buhay at tsaka kapitbahay ko pa. Kung sinuswerte ka nga naman talaga.

I guess enrolling in Psychology at LU isn't that bad at all. It's been days pa but I already found my constants. No doubt, isa sila sa magandang nangyari sa buhay ko.

"Tara na nga. Samahan na natin. Hindi yata yan tatahimik. Naririndi na ako."

It's really funny how our friendship started. We met each other in class but we never talked but during the org fair during the first day of class, we found ourselves in a circle, all of us looking like lost freshmen students, which we are. We were told to stay in our booth for an hour and that's what we did. Better than nothing, we decided to talk to each other and Yohann being Yohann suddenly told us we were already his best friends for life and who were we to say no? So we just let him be until the next day, we found ourselves eating lunch together. Just like that. But I'm really so happy to meet them. Everyday became bearable because of their presence in my life. It's only been a few days but they've made me laugh a lot and they're also never the ones who cut class. Everyday with them is an adventure of coffee shops and McDonald's. Right from the beginning, I knew that no matter how loud they were, I'll always have their backs no matter what pero sa ngayon nauna na talaga akong maglakad ng bigla akong nahila pabalik. Shit, may nabangga pa yata ako.

“Miss, my earphones.” I looked up at the guy, caught in a trance, because how the hell can someone have such a deep and beautiful voice?! I looked at his ID and hmm, Jeron huh? Cute.

“Miss?”

“Ah yes okay wait lang. Sorry talaga, I didn’t notice kasi I was running late.” I told him as I untangled his earphones from where it got stuck in my bag.

“It’s okay”, I was almost done untangling his earphones when I noticed that it’s still playing the music he was listening to.

It was my favourite song, the song that made my drives enjoyable.

I smiled at him, “Here you go.” And while staring into his eyes, I said, “I love the song. See you around, Jeron.”
