Say anything
(Y/N's) Pov
~•~I watched Cedric's adoring eyes as I cradled Romeo in my arms on a cold Christmas day, sat with my legs crossed in front of the warmth of the fireplace.
It was snowing outside, although it was just a thin layer of snow on the ground, snow was one of my favourite things, it was the most romantic thing - in my opinion - to kiss in the snow, the white ice falling on the couple's hair as they embrace- I'm getting off-topic.
Romeo was still tiny but his eyes were always so bright, just like Cedric's. He may of had my hair and a few of my facial features but Romeo was practically a carbon copy of his father.
"How many galleons do you bet that his first words are gonna be 'dada'?" Cedric whispered into my ear as Romeo cooed happily because he saw his father.
"Five."
"Really?" Cedric's face was surprised which I laughed at.
"Yeah...don't you see that he's a father's boy." The doorbell rang and I left Romeo with Cedric as I answered it. "Ava! William and Stella-Mei!...Rose." I was still hesitant to let my eldest sister in, she had apologized after our parents had died but I could tell that she resented me for not being able to stop it.
Believe it or not, my eldest brother married Katie's sister, small world.
Ava quickly diffused the tension by asking loudly, "Where's my favourite nephew?"
"Your only nephew." William corrected. He stood with his daughter - Kayla - resting on his hips. She was about two years old and had cute pigtails tied in her hair.
"Kayla!" I cooed and gently took her from my brother. "Come in."
They all poured into our humble cottage and sat in the living room. It was rather cramped as they put some presents under the tree.
"Who are we waiting for?" Ava asked.
"Harrison, Rei and Gracie," Cedric replied. "I haven't seen Harrison in a while."
"Him and Rei went to live abroad for two months...I think in France." I replied as I sat next to him again. I took out my wand and floated six butterbeers over and a hot chocolate for Kayla.
I passed them out and Rose looked uneasy but drank it anyway and her face lit up as foam sat on the top of her lips. I chuckled at her reaction to butterbeer.
As everyone made small talk and I played with Kayla, time passed and the doorbell rang again.
This time Cedric answered and returned with Harrison, Rei and Gracie.
"Hey, guys." I greeted. This time I walked to the kitchen and grabbed some butterbeer and a hot chocolate and returned and gave it to the newcomers.
They took their respective drinks and I almost did a double-take when I saw Ava staring at Gracie. I watched her mesmerised gaze and grinned. It would've been a perfect moment for a slow-motion as Gracie brushed a strand of short hair behind her ear and smiled widely whilst entertaining the small children in the room.
