The tears kept falling as a drove. *Stupid, stupid, stupid!* I thought to myself. How could I have let this happen? I've betrayed her. I let her die and now I've forgotten her fucking anniversary. My thoughts went wild as I continued down the Highway 119 and merged on to the I-65. *Jake. Pudge. Colonel. Mom. White flowers. Stupid, stupid, stupid!*

Then I thought, once again, to the question that had been gnawing at me for most of my life. *How do we ever get out of this labyrinth of suffering?* But I knew the answer to that one already. *Straight and fast.* And that's what I said out loud to myself just as I hit the accelerator, and went straight towards the police car with the flashing blue lights.
