Julia's POV

I woke up in my bed so I guess someone carried me here. I get changed into work out clothes because I want to go for a jog.

I get a water bottle and my phone with with my beats. I turn on my running playlist and walk to the living room. "I'm going for a run" I tell my mom and walk outside.

I start to run around the block and then I realize I'm by my old house. I look at it and someone opens the door. It's Kathy. Just wonderful! "Oh darling! Julia how I've missed you!" I could hear her faint voice over my beats.

I just ignored her and she started running after me. I started to pick up the pace and I think I lost her. I stopped to catch my breath and someone kicked my over.

I see that it was Kathy (if you guys didn't know Kathy was Julia's adoption mother, she went crazy)

"What the hell?" I say. She picks me up and slaps me. I get angry and I punch her in the face and slap her and start to run back home. I could hear Kathy crying. I was defending myself!

I stop and look in my iPhone mirror to see im starting to get a black eye. My ribs are hurting because she kicked me. I continue to run home.

When I get home I run to my room. It all hits me. Kathy is insane. Why is she hitting me? I take a shower and change. I start to try to cover up the mark so no one will see. My door barges open and good thing I got it covered.

Matt walked in "let's go swimming!" He screamed and I laughed. "Okay" I say and I push him out of my room. I changed into a swimsuit and run outside and push matt in and jump in after. He starts to tickle me and I realize my makeup is probably running.

I scream and get it if the pool. I try to run in but matt grabs me but the waist and I winch because my rips hurt. "Julia look at me" he says. "No" I say and he walks in front of me. He gasps "julia why do you have a black eye and a bruise on your rib?" He asked.

I shrug "I don't know" I say. "Julia tell me" he says. "You don't need to know everything about me matthew!" I scream and run to my room. I changed out of my swimsuit and get changed into leggings and a over sized sweater.

I dry and straighten my hair and someone knocks. I open the door and see matt and try to shut the door but he stops it. I sit on my bed and he sits next to me. He lifts up my sweater to see the bruise and looks at my eye.

"How?" He asks. "I was jogging and Kathy attacked me. She starting to hit me and kick me" I say and matt hugs me and I cry into him.

"Go tell your mom please" he says and I nod. He grabs my hand and I walk to my moms room. "Mom can we talk?" I say and she nods.

"When I was jogging today Kathy attacked me and hit me and kicked me" I say and show her the bruises.

He hugs me "it's okay julia I'll handle this. Thank you matthew" she says and hugs matt and me. She whispers into my ear "he's a keeper" she says and I smile. "What?" Matt asks "you already know" I say.

"No I don't" he says "she told me your a keeper and I already know that" I say and kiss him. He smiles and hugs me "I love you" he says. "I love you too" I say into his chest.

"I'm gonna head home you should come over later" matt says "okay see ya" I say and hug him. I need to spend time with Madison because she's leaving soon.

I run to Madison's house and ring the doorbell. She opens it and I immediately hug her "please don't move back I need you here" I say. "I was gonna tell you my parents agreed to let me stay until I graduate!" "Oh thank the lord" I say and laugh.
