(Ok just a quick fyi this is my first fanfic or what not ever. So....yeah anyway a bit of a language warning, nothing too bad...for now. Enjoy the story)

Headphones on and music blasting, Nami sat next to her dad as the plane landed. Smiling to herself she looked out the window, she would be home soon.

Alright you all may be a little confused right now, so let's shed some light on the backstory. Meet Nanami Bakugo, though Nami is what she prefers. Yes, her brother is the infamous Katsuki, and he just so happens to be 3 months older than her. Nami was adopted, hence the strange age gap, and unlike most her new family didn't adopt her based on her quirk but her appearance. She had the same hair colour as her brother and her parents thought it'd be cute. But it's not like she wasn't grateful, in fact she wouldn't want it any other way.

For the past 3 years Nami has actually been living with her father. Her father had to temporarily move for work, and to relive the stress from his wife he took Nami with him. It was agreed upon, he didn't just up and take the child. But it meant for 3 years her only contact with her mother and brother was phone and video calls. But that business is now over so the two were making the journey home so to speak. And that's all there is to know for now.

Though knowing she was going to be home for high school, so in preparation she had already sent applications out before she had left. One of those was the all-time famous hero high school U.A. She liked the idea of being a hero. Helping people.......bashing in the skulls of villains it sounded like fun. She had a pretty decent quirk. Aerosphere, the ability to push and pull air in different strengths. It's pretty cool, but like most quirks it has its downsides. While she's using it, she can't breathe, well its more like there's no air to breathe and the basic exhaustion.

Anyway, after all that explaining and flashback...ing Nami found herself waking up her dad gently shaking her. "Come on time to hop up planes landed" he said reaching up and grabbing both their carry-on bags. Quickly stretching in her seat, she jumped up, folding her head set up and stuffing them in her bag handed to her. "It feels good to be home again" she smiled. "Yeah yeah, you can reminisce when you get off the plane, remember you almost made us late for the flight" her dad laughed. Poking her tongue out and jumping up she quickly followed her dad off the plane. "Can I reminisce now?" she joked the moment she stepped off the plane. Although she didn't see it, she knew he was rolling his eyes. Chuckling they followed the signs that lead them to the baggage collection. Unlike most she didn't have a large bag. She was more practical if anything. All she ever really wore was a black slightly oversized hoodie, black shorts, and some kind of printed tee. Today it was All Might, not that you could tell under her hoodie.

Skipping past the journey home, there honestly wasn't much to talk about. It was a taxi; she resumed her music....boring. Things only picked up when she got home. Her mum was waiting outside for them. Immediately ditching her bags and leaving them all to her dad she ran up and crashed into her mum with a hug. Which lasted all of 5 seconds before the ranting started. "Don't leave your dad with all the bags, I thought you were a little more thoughtful, hurry up and help him, don't just stand there."

'Yep it's good to be back' Nami thought stepping away and going back to help her dad with the two bags, must I say TWO BAGS. I'm a horrible daughter for leaving dad to carry two bags with his two arms. Hint note the tasteful sarcasm. Smiling she took her bag and wheeled it up into the house. She had a feeling she needed to leave her mum and dad alone for a while. "I'm home" She called walking through the door, though no one answered. She made her way up to her room wheeling her suitcase behind her as she walked up the stairs. It hadn't changed since she left. Not bothering to unpack immediately she walked back downstairs the voices from the lounge told her that her parents were catching up. She couldn't blame them, talking in person is way better than over the phone. "While you guys are catching up, I'm gonna go for a walk. If I sit still for any longer, I'm going to go crazy" Nami said giving a small wave. Before she had fully walked out the door, she heard a quick 'be back before dinner'.

Nami used to play with her friends and brother a lot around the neighbourhood. It was a simple lot, though it could be easy to get lost. Honestly it just felt nice to walk for longer than 10 minutes. After all the travel in the same day she was looking forward to a proper sleep in her own bed. With everything that happened she had missed out on the majority of her holidays, in which most would spend their extra time preparing for entrance exams. Don't get it wrong she did study and practice not wanting to be behind, but she wasn't able to go to the level of others.

She aimlessly wandered around for an hour or two, she wasn't really keeping track of time and only just got back home as the sky started turning orange. Opening the door, the all too familiar sound could be heard from the kitchen. Her mum, most likely cooking dinner, her dad, probably watching, and her dear older brother......yelling about something most likely nothing. "Jesus calm down, I could hear you a block away" Nami said. In an instant Katsuki had turned around about to say something but stopping himself before speaking, "What are you doing back?" Nami knew he didn't mean to be rude....we all hope. "Oh, ya know the door was open, just walked in off the street" she said casually earning a scoff from Katsuki. Before anymore could be said their mum spoke up, "Nami talk nicely to your brother, Katsuki improve that rude tone of yours. So help me."

"Calm down everyone's tired" Masaru spoke up. (Just a tid bit Masaru is Katsuki's dad)

Dinner was like normal, Masaru and Mitsuki continued talking while including Nami and Katsuki. "So where are you planning to go to high school?" Nami asked Katsuki pushing a piece of carrot around her plate. Don't even get her started on those disgusting orange ground sticks.

"Duh isn't it obvious? U.A there isn't any other choice for someone as powerful as me" He said. If he could inflate his ego anymore he'd do it. "Not that I have to worry about the entrance exams, it'll be easy."

It was Nami's turn to roll her eyes now. Geez her brother could be what the word....an ass. "Uh huh sure your quirk is all powerful and no one compares" she said the sarcasm rich in her voice.

"Shut up you know it's true, your just upset cause you won't get to go to the U.A hero course" Katsuki smirked and in a split second he had shoved a piece of carrot in her mouth.

Nami sat at the table, her brain had to pause and process what just happened. Soon she was coughing and gagging. "Mum Katsuki tried to poison me!" she called out.

"Well maybe you shouldn't" and that was as far as he got before their mother had hit them both on the head.

"Enough your both as stubborn as each other" She fumed moving back around the table to sit down again. The two siblings got along really well, just in their own special way.

The rest of dinner went off without a hitch and soon enough dishes were washed and everything was put away. Katsuki being Katsuki shut himself in his room, and while Nami kinda did the same she used the time to unpack and prepare for tomorrow. Yes, she didn't tell Katsuki about her U.A entrance exam, but he never asked so someone's gonna get a lovely surprise tomorrow.

The next day came quickly, and Nami woke to sunlight flooding her room. Rolling out of bed, legit rolling she rolled right out and onto the floor where she laid for a minute. Jumping up she quickly dressed and grabbed her bag. The plan was to go for a quick run before heading to the school, but she ended up sleeping in so the run will have to be to the school. Dressed in her usual black shorts and printed tee she stuffed her school uniform into a bag and walked out. "I'll be back later" she called out, "Good luck!" her mum and dad called out.

Running not only helped keep her fit but provided an excellent breathing exercise. Seeing as she needed to hold her breath when it came to her quirk it helped to have control over her breathing. She may have gotten lost a few times, but it doesn't matter because she ended up making it. Looking up at the school she opened her bag and slipped her uniform on over her clothes. If she was forced to wear a skirt, she was gonna wear what she wanted under it. Honestly the school seemed bigger in person. She had seen it in elementary school but since she was gone for middle school, she never really looked at it before. Walking with the other students, whom she also presumed were here to take the entrance exam she spotted an all to familiar head. It was his hair colour that gave him away. Least it made finding her brother in a crowd easier. Not looking where she was going, she bumped into some kid who was staring off into space. "Hey, you shouldn't be standing in the middle of a walkway like that" she said. He looked up at her, it honestly wasn't much of a height difference 1 cm at the most. He couldn't even get a single word out he was a stuttering mess. In that moment Nami put a hand on his head pressing down his hair. 'What is a bean doing here......I must protect the bean' she thought before walking on into the exam hall.
