In 1953, a number of protests took place in over East Turkestan. The Chinese government sent General Wang Zhen to crackdown the protests. Wang Zhen arrested, tortured and executed the protesters including intellectuals, religious experts such as Chengeskhan Damolla, Asadulla Damolla and Abdulaziz Mahsum.

-In December 1954, Abdulhamid Damolla and Pathidin Mahsum founded an organization called “Liberation Party” in Atchoy, Hotan (“Hetian” in Chinese) Prefecture. They protested against the Chinese rule and attacked Atchoy Prison and liberated the Uyghur prisoners at Atchoy Prison. The protestors were about to surrender Hotan but they were sold out by a traitor and the Chinese government cracked down on the protestors."
