Lightspeed: Origin Story

Chapter 2: Lightspeed is a thing!

It's been a few months since Peter's ironic living room death, and Dave's YouTube channel has now reached the 10 sub milestone.

Dave wraps up publishing his new video on his channel and goes outside for his daily run.

Dave takes off down the road as fast as he can. He does this to build his stamina and speed. This time, however, the sky gets cloudy very very quickly which isn't natural at all, so Dave sprints home as blue lightning strikes Dave's right hand which flows through his body and puts him in a coma. Dave's mom sees this, and thinks he's dead, so she calls the hospital to see if he'll be ok.

A few minutes later the ambulance arrives and takes Dave to the hospital. The doctors check if Dave's still alive and he is, which relieves Dave's mom a lot.

Two months go by, and Dave wakes up, looks around, and realizes he's in a hospital.

Dave asks the nearest doctor how long he was out.

"Two months"

Dave tried to sit up, but instantly feels a huge electric jolt from his legs, which causes his legs to not work anymore.

The doctor tells him he'll need to be in a wheelchair for a few months at best. The doctor also tells Dave his mom is waiting outside, so Dave hops in his new wheelchair and goes to see his mom.

Fast forward three months and Dave can now get out of his wheelchair, but he can't run for another solid two months.

Two more months go by, and Dave is ready for his first run in five months. He is advised to start slow but does he listen? No. He takes off at the speed of sound, literally. As he's running he realizes he broke the sound barrier and also realized he had super speed. He looked behind him, and sure enough, there was a long, blue trail following him wherever.
