3 days later.

Emily's P.O.V.

Here I am. Sitting uncomfortably in an airplane seat, my side pressed up against the freezing wall of the plane as I watched us ascend from the ground. Angie was sitting next to me, her eyes widened as her hands gripped on the armrests while Niko sat at the end of the row, not really doing anything as he stared at the blank, mini television screen in front of him.

I guess you're a bit confused, right? Right.

"You want me.. To come to Australia with you?!" I screeched, my fork slipping from my fingers as it collided with my plate.

Niko smiled innocently, playing with his broccoli as my parents faces dropped.

"Hey! I wanna go to Australia too!" Connor & Sammie proclaim in unison, their jaws dropping as they both crossed their arms against their chests. Twins, what could I say.

"I don't think that's going to happen, Niko," my mother interjects, clearing her throat and placing her fork on her plate.

"Sammie, Connor, why don't you two head upstairs to your rooms while we sort this out," my dad states, motioning his head towards the staircase to the left.

"B-But!" They both exclaim.

"Now," he interjects.

With that, the two of them excused them self from the table, and trudged all the way upstairs.

Following their absence, Niko spoke. "Come on mom, dad! Em's been waiting for this! It'll be the experience of a lifetime! She can learn to surf an-"

"No, Niko!" My mother interrupts him. "It's her winter break, she'd only be gone for two weeks! And Emily can surf here! We can get her lessons."

"That's not the same, mom.." I mutter underneath my breath.

"Exactly, it's not the same. A-and.. A couple weeks is plenty of time.. At least she would get to come, right?!" Niko exclaims. "And she won't be alone! My best mate is there too, we can teacher her to surf!" He added, flailing his arms madly.

"Perhaps we could wait until the summer..?" My dad suggests.

"I'm too busy in the summer. I bought plane tickets to visit now, not later. And plus, it'll be winter then in Australia." Niko replies. Oh right.. The seasons switch in Australia, it being in the Southern Hemisphere. Interesting.

"Mom.. Please. I-I'll do anything when I get back! I-I'll drive Sammie and Connor to school, wash the dishes for a year, work freakin quadruple shifts at the surf shack, anything!" I cry out.

For a moment, there was silence. None of us moved, just stared at one another. A pair of eyes trailing from one person to the next.

"We'll think about it, alright?" My mom finally stated, a sigh escaping from her mouth as she exchanged glances with my dad.

With that, both me and Niko's eyes widened, and open mouthed grins appeared on our mouths.

"THAT'S BETTER THAN A NO!" I exclaimed, pushing myself out of my chair and dancing my way out of the dining room.

1 day later.

"MOM! YES! THANK YOU! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!" I screeched, squealing like a maniac as I leaped at my mom, giving her a bear hug before Niko joined in from behind me, and my dad gave in from behind my mom. Ah, family hug. Minus the twins.

"You just need to make sure to call me everyday, okay?" She chuckles lightly, but honestly, I could barely comprehend what she was saying. I was going to Australia.
