Maxon's POV
I looked down the isle towards the large oak doors that separated me from my America. I looked around the room at all the people who had shown up. It was times like this I wondered who was here for me and who was here for the publicity. The music started playing and I once again looked at the large oak doors as they opened to reveal my America holding Aspen's arm. He still made me uneasy every time I looked at him, but I had to trust that America had told me all her secrets about them and that all of her feelings were for me. She gazed around the room once no doubt taking in the large amount of people in the room. They were all here for her, the people worshipped her. She then locked her icy blue eyes with my chocolate brown ones and smiled. As the music played she walked in time down the isle. Down to me. When she reaches me I take her from Aspen and lean in to whisper in her ear.
"Hello, my dear." I whisper tickling her ear
"Don't start" she warns but I know she's only joking
The vows are exchanged and as we both whisper "I do" we smile knowing what happens next.
"Now by the power invested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. King Maxon, you may now kiss your bride."
We crash into each other in only the most romantic way possible. She pushes against me begging for more as I kiss her with the fierceness she most desires. I wish to give her everything. We both know the country is watching so we pull apart silently vowing to continue later.
After our vows to the country we are dismissed back to our chambers to change as guests make their way to the reception.
I kiss her before she walks into the princess' suite to change. We both decided that for now we would both be using the prince and princess' suites until we were ready for the king and queens suite. Neither of us were ready for the title. I change out of my suit jacket littered with medals and remove the blue sash. I remember the first time America saw me in this suit. She told me I belonged hanging with the chandeliers. In all honesty she belonged up there. She was the light of my life. I freshen up before knocking on the door leading to her suite.
"America my dear." I call sweetly.
"Yes your royal husbandness" she answers back in return.
The name makes me laugh. The memory brings back such beautiful memories. And such harsh ones as well.
"May I come in" I ask.
"Well, if you must." she answers with mock annoyance.
I walk into her room sweeping her off her feet and kissing her before setting her down to gaze at the beautiful masterpiece her maids always transform her into.
"Well, how do I look" she asks turning around.
"More beautiful than anyone has ever looked in the history of life" I answer bringing her in for another kiss. " Let's go your highness, we have a reception to attend"
"Do you think they would notice if we didn't show up?" she asks
"Well, I suppose not, I mean we are only the most important people in the county." I answer laughing. She laughs as well before answering.
"Alright, let's go"
And with that I sweep her off her feet running out the door and down the stairs to our reception with her laughing in my arms the whole way.
For the moment we are happy, truly happy.
