Shuichi was lying on his bed, staring at the ceiling. The bright lamp that was just hanging above him made his eyes hurt. The boy sighed, slowly sitting up straight now. Time was passing so slowly. It was only midday so far. Shuichi wanted to do something, but he couldn't stop thinking about the recent events. First Rantaro, then Kaede. Ryoma, Kirumi, Angie, Tenko, Korekiyo. You name them. They were all dead. Dead because of this stupid killing game. The despair slowly filled his body. Shuichi felt tense, his body shaking. Sweat was dripping from his face and he felt tired. Shuichi was done. He didn't want to do this anymore. Would it be best to just give up? But then, what was this all for? He made a promise to her after all. "No, I can't." Shuichi said to himself. "I just can't. I'm sorry. Guess I'm not as strong after all." The detective muttered. "Everyone is depending on me, but I'm still afraid of facing the truth. Cause of me they all died. It's all my fault." He couldn't help but to blame this all on himself. Tears were rolling down the blue haired male's cheeks. He couldn't hold it in anymore. "Damn it!" Shuichi cursed loudly. If only there was someone to cheer him up. At that very moment, Shuichi's doorbell rang. Quickly wiping off his tears, he moved his way to the door opening it up carefully. Whoever stood in front of Shuichi's door sure suprised him. "Kokichi?" He said a little shocked. What could he possibly want at this hour? "Shuichi, I need your help!" He stated. Curious to know what this was about, Shuichi decided to ask. "With what exactly?" The purple haired boy put his hands behind his head and started smirking. This couldn't mean anything good. "I'm running away from Kaito and I need a hiding spot. I could use your dorms for that, right? Thanks!" Before even able to say anything, Kokichi stepped into Shuichi's room. He looked around for a bit. Everyone's dorms was pretty much the same, so there wasn't really anything to it. "Hey, Shumai." He said with a big grin on his face. Shumai, was that a nickname or something? More importantly, he was holding something in his hands. Something black that came from one of his drawers. "Nice underwear you got here. Haha!" Those words made Shuichi red in an instant. "What do you need with my underwear? Put that back!" He stuttered, avoiding his gaze. Kokichi did what he said and put his underwear back where it belonged. Was he just toying with him? Shuichi didn't want to think about this awkward situation and quickly thought about something else to talk about. "Say, why exactly are you running away from Kaito?" He asked. Oma chuckled. "Oh, you know. I just pulled a prank on him. Kaito really is way too sensitive." Shuichi was a little worried about him now. Hopefully Kokichi didn't go too far this time. Knowing him, he probably did. All of a sudden the doorbell rang again. "Shit!" Kokichi yelped out as he hid under Shuichi's bed. Kaito must have found him by now. Due to his size it actually wasn't that hard for him to fit under there. "Don't you dare say a word." Shuichi nodded. He didn't really have a choice now. Snitching him to Kaito would probably result in some payback from Kokichi. Shuichi opened the door, looking up at the ultimate astronaut. He had to play it cool now. "Kaito, you here? Is there something you need?" Something seemed different about him. "Yeah. I'm looking for Kokichi. Have you seen what that bastard did? He shove off my goatee when I was taking a nap! You didn't happen to see him here, right?" Kaito asked. "No, I'm afraid I haven't. I'm sorry about what happened, but it doesn't look all too bad. On the contrary, you look a lot younger." That made Kaito smile for a bit. "Heh, thanks Shuichi. Cheering me up when I most need it. That's my sidekick!" Shuichi smiled as well. "If I find him, I'll let you know." Kaito nodded. "Great, I'll go look for him elsewhere. I want to pay that asshole back!" Kaito said as he left off in a rush. A loud relieved sigh now filled the room. "Finally, he's gone." Kokichi said as he crawled from under the bed. "You're pretty good at lying, I'm impressed! But someone like me could tell you were lying immediatly. I am a supreme leader of evil after all. Anyway, thanks for letting me hide here Shumai!" He said ever so cheerful. There was that nickname again. "If you feel like it we could spend some more time together the next day, but I'm not really sure if I want to spend some time with a lame person like you." Shuichi didn't really know how to respond to that. "Well, you don't need to." Kokichi seemed a little annoyed. "That was a lie silly! Or maybe it wasn't. I could very well be lying right now." He said when holding a finger against his mouth. "But you have no choice Shuichi. See you tomorrow at the game room at 4 o'clock. Don't forget it alright?" He giggled as he left the dorm room. Kokichi wanted to hang out more? What could he be scheming? Ah, maybe he actually wanted to hang out. Whatever the reason was, Shuichi felt much better now. Knowing someone wanted to spend time with him made him feel less lonely.
