"Make You Smile" (Chris x Reader)

It was 7:30 in the morning in New Jersey when Andrea Hunter rolled out of bed. She grabbed her phone, and texted her best friend, Chris Williams, who was currently living in LA with his older brother Bryan, and Dayne Murray, not to mention three other boys she didn't completely know, and a girl named Heidi.

A- Hey, idiot! I know it's pretty early for you there, but I just wanted you to know that I miss you, and can't wait until you come home for a few days next month!

C- Yeah, about that. I don't think I can make it next month. Something came up last minute, and it's gonna take a while to get it sorted out.

A- Oh, that sucks. Wait, why are you still awake? Isn't it 4:30 in the morning where you are?

C- Couldn't sleep. Hey, I sent you a package a few days ago. Can you go check to see if it's arrived yet? Hoping this makes up partially for having to cancel next month.

A- Yeah, sure. I'll be right back, heading to the door now.

With that, Andrea slipped her phone into her back pocket, and went to the front door. She heard talking on the other side, and looked out the window. However, all she saw was someone with their back to her. Opening the door, her hand went to cover her mouth.

"CHRIS? BRYAN? DAYNE?" She asked, before hugging Dayne and Bryan quickly. "Uh, come on in, I guess. I would've put more effort into breakfast if I had known y'all were coming!"

"We would love to stay, but I think Chris wants some time with you alone," Bryan said, and pulled Dayne away. "C'mon, bro. I'll get you breakfast somewhere else."

"So, I'm home," Chris said, and she gestured for him to come in. "I missed you, Andrea."

"I don't know if this is just a dream,"  she said. "If it is, I am gonna be very upset. I've been missing you for MONTHS, ever since you flew out to California to be with Bryan and Dayne!"

"There was a reason behind this surprise visit," Chris said, before turning away from her. "But I don't know if I can do it right now."

"Chris?" Andrea asked, standing up to hug him. "What's wrong, baby boy?"

"That! That is wrong!" Chris erupted. "I love you! I always have! But all you've ever seen me as is a friend! And I know that, because you're always talking about your stupid TikTok crush, who I bet I know, and I just wanna-"

"Chris, can you get my phone off my couch, please?" She asked. "It must be fallen out as I stood up."

Chris stopped ranting, and looked at the picture on her lock screen.

"This was from the first time we facetimed after you moved all the way across the country. That kind, funny, cute TikTok star that I always talk about?" Andrea asked, not believing that she was about to out herself to her best friend. "That kind, funny, cute guy is you, Chris."I

"How long had you liked me?"

"I have loved you since we were 18."

"I left, without much notice, because I thought you didn't like me the way I liked you. Oh, I knew you loved me, but I thought it would always be like a friend," Chris said, and she smiled. "You wanna know what I like the best about me and you, though?"

"What?"

"The fact that no matter how long we're apart, I can always make you smile."

"Such a simp," she muttered, hugging him tight. "I missed doing this."

"I'm only a simp for you, babe," Chris said, hugging Andrea back. "I missed this so much."

"Babe?" She asked, and Chris realized what she meant.

"Um, it kinda just slipped out. I didn't mean it. Unless you wanted me to, and were just commenting on the pet name. Are you okay with it?"

"Well, it has a nice ring to it," she said, acting as if she was thinking out loud. "Unfortunately, I'm single, because nobody has asked me out."

"You little devil!" Chris said, looking down at her. "Fine, then. Andrea Brielle Hunter, will you go out with me?"

"Of course, Chris."

"I love to make you smile," both of you said, with smiles lighting up every feature of your faces.
