Breakfast?

                                                                                    chapter 10

Sebastian's pov

3am

I wake up in the middle of the night because Lucy was having a nightmare. She was screaming and crying, I quietly get up and hop into my bed with her. I hug her whispering it will be ok and even though she was asleep it helped so I went to sleep next to her.

8am

I feel sudden movement next to me and open my eyes, Lucy is awake looking confused. "I slept with you because you were having a nightmare" I spoke still groggy. "S-sorry if I woke you" she says quietly.

We lay there together, she curled up into my chest and soon fell asleep. I watched her chest go up and down as she breathes. She looks so peaceful sleeping right now compared to at 3am. I made sure I didn't fall asleep because I knew her dad would come looking for her today and I want to protect her.

I grab my phone, it's 10am and light is pouring into the room. I jump out of bed carefully not to wake Lucy up and walk downstairs. Her dad will find her eventually and I need to be prepared, I grab my dagger and it's holder that goes around my wrist and strap it on. I get dressed in a hoodie to hide the dagger and start making breakfast. I don't know how much her dad gives her to eat so I make plenty for both of us.

"What are you making?" Lucy comes down stairs and asks looking excited. "Blueberry pancakes and waffles, morning hun" I say with a smile while flipping pancakes. She sets the table up with mats, forks, knives, a vase full of flowers and plates to put on the food. She quickly goes upstairs to get dressed, then comes back downstairs with a violet hoodie and dark blue tight jeans.

We sit down and eat but then there's a knock at the door, so I get up telling Lucy to stay there and keep eating.

I slowly open the door with my hand on my hidden dagger. "Hello I'm Mr. James from down the road, have you seen my daughter Lucy" he asks. "Your never going to hurt her again Mr. James, she's living with me now". I say calmly

He looks at me for a second, his calm face changing to angry. He lunges at me to punch me and I grab my dagger. He lands a few punches on me and I hit him a few times and then I slammed my dagger into his side, not bad enough of a wound to kill him but to slow him down.

As we wrestle on the ground I hear a cry and see Lucy standing at the side of the room. He starts punching me hard in the head and I start to feel dizzy. I can't let him hurt her so I fight even harder. "Lucy call the cops" I yell and she runs out of the room.

She came back a few minutes later saying she called them, she looks at me getting hurt and she had a look of anger and fear on her face while she ran out of the room.

She runs back in with the vase of flowers that were on the table and smashes the vase on his head, knocking him unconscious. I tie him up and not shortly after the cops come and take him away.

Later that day
"Thank you for helping me and for everything else" Lucy says hugging me. "It's ok, I couldn't stand by and let him hurt you" I say hugging her. "I do have one more question though" I ask her with a smile on my face.

"Will you go out with me" I ask her, her face lights and as she says yes while hugging me. I tilt her chin up and kiss her. I pick her up bridal style while kissing her and she giggles, her giggle was so cute.

she grabs me an icepack and a few bandages, helping me with my injury's. We walk back over to the table to eat and she thanks me for the meal I prepared us.
