I woke up to the sound of my phone alarm. i reached my hand down and pressed to turn it off, but it carried on. i lifted my phone up, only to realise that Katie was calling me. i answered the phone and held it up to my ear.

k- wake the fuck up. i'm going to be at your house in 20 minutes.
a- what?? it's only 7:40.
k- i volunteered us to show the new boy around! we could get you a boyfriend out of him!
a- but i'm not ready!! and why didn't you ask me first??
k- sorry. but avani's waiting in her car outside so you need to hurry up.
a- your sisters taking us? please tell me she's not showing him round too.
k- no no. she's dropping us off then going to get anthony.
a- thank god. no offence but she's way too protective over you and it annoys me.
k- she's 18. you know what she's like with me and stuff. and i get it from her past.
a- yeah i know but-
k- shut up and go get ready.
a- okay.

i hung up the phone and groaned.

a- i am not ready to get up.

i sat up and grabbed my hairbrush. i brushes all the knots and tangles out of my hair and stumbled over to the bathroom. i brushed my teeth and put on a bit of concealer, then went to my closet. i grabbed some black joggers and a cropped yellow tank top. i checked my phone and the time was 07:53. i grabbed my hoodie and my school bag and left my room. i hopped down the stairs and went to the front door. i peeped out the hole and saw avani's car outside.

a- mom i'm going now!
m- bye sweetie! have a good day.
a- thanks mom! bye!

i went out the front door and skipped to avani's car. i got in and sat next to katie.

k- you ready to meet your future boyfriend?
a- oh shut up. i'm not ready for that again, and he probably won't even like me.
k- you need to get over what happened with joe.
a- i can't katie. you know what he did to me.
k- i get that but like, it's been nearly a year and you are still scared of a relationship.
a- katie. you expect me to be ready again just like that? he hit me. everyday for a whole month.
k- calm down calm down. just meet the new boy and maybe he can change your mind.
a- okay okay whatever. but i doubt it anyway.
k- we will see!
av- we are nearly there now.
k- okay!

avani pulled up outside of school and me and katie both hopped out the car.

k- thank you for the ride!
a- thanks vani.
av- you're welcome girls! anytime.

i smiled at her and looked at katie. she grabbed my hand and pulled me into school.

k- you ready?
a- i guess?

i took a deep breath and she pulled me into the main hall. i saw a boy with dark curly hair, facing the other way.

k- that's him.
a- okay and?

she rolled her eyes at me and we walked over to him. katie looked at me then tapped his shoulder. he turned around and took the headphones out of his ears.

a- oh my fucking god no.
k- alexis? what are you-

i turned around and ran out the hall. i heard katie chasing after me.

k- lex wait!!

i ran to the tree and sat down against it. katie caught up and sat next to me.

k- lex what was that? you probably scared him off already!
a- katie.. that's.. thats..
k- that's what?
a- that's bryce hall..
