Regina Hood, former Queen and now wife of a thief, awoke next to her beloved Robin like she would any other morning. However, something felt different. She couldn't put her finger on it, but she had this overwhelming sense of dread that she just couldn't shake.
"What's wrong, my love?" Robin asked as he sat up on his elbow to face her. He ran the fingers of his other hand gently through her hair to move some strands away from her eyes. She lay on her back, staring up at the ceiling unable to find the words she wished to say. "You have your happy ending," he added.
"I know I do, but I can't shake the feeling that something is coming to take it all away again," Regina responded through an always strong yet, this time, worried voice.
"You were able to save Marian and figure out a way for us to return to Storybrooke. I still chose you and our two sleeping boys couldn't love you more. You have everything you could ever dream of yet you still worry. Why?"
"Today just feels different," she added with a small sigh. Robin leaned over her and looked into her eyes, forcing her to focus on him rather than the ceiling. Once he was certain he had her full attention, he kissed her gently on the lips with his hand pressed light against her cheek. Regina couldn't help, but relax in his embrace. She wrapped her arms around him and pulled him closer. Their embrace was a sanctuary for them, especially for Regina; it was the place where she felt safest... a place without magic that still gave her power and security.
Robin pulled away from the kiss, but pressed his forehead against Regina's. Her eyes were closed, but he looked at her lovingly and said, "I can dare anything together with you, my love. Nothing could ever stand a chance against your magic and my arrow. I would die before allowing anything to stand in the way of your happiness again."
Meanwhile, deep in the forest near the old wishing well, a dark purple fog seeped out of the well. Legend has it that the waters that run below the well possess great magic with the capability of bringing back that which one has lost. Within seconds, the purple smoke swirled in the air and took the shape of a human. Thus, a relatively small looking woman in her early twenties with dark hair and eyes stood at the base of the wishing well. She turned and looked down into it with a devilish grin and blew a kiss, as if she could see someone at the bottom. In that instant, a bolt of lightning came up from the well and struck a tree, forcing it to the ground and causing all of Storybrooke and its citizens to tremble.
