"Aaaahhhhhh!!!!!!" Regina screamed and clutched Robin's hand so tightly. "I can't do this," she said through tears. "I can't have this baby and then give it away. I refuse to do it!" "My love, the baby is coming and you heard what Sidney said. The child will be safe and will return to us. It will be hard now, but this is something we must do. We're heroes now, remember?" Robin smiled.
Regina nearly punched him. "You're always going to choose the honorable thing. Save the town, save the child. What about saving me?! I won't survive this, Robin." She sobbed and cringed through a contraction.
"In this new land, we will have one another. We will prepare for when the child arrives. It isn't ideal, but we will adjust. There can be happiness there. You just have to take a chance. Do the right thing, Regina. If you choose not to send the child away, it will die." Now both were crying and holding one another.
Dr. Whale rushed over with some towels, blankets, and any other tools he could get his hands on. "Oh boy. This baby is coming right now," he said as he sterilized his hands in the hot water he got from Granny on his way over. Regina clenched her teeth and a fireball shot from her hand through the woods. Whale and Robin followed it as it incinerated a bush right before their eyes. They looked at each other and then at Regina. Robin decided he should speak first to avoid the only doctor in the woods from being incinerated as well. "Regina, my love, you have to breathe, okay? No fireballs. Try to control your magic. I know you're in a lot of pain, but it will all be over soon. Just look at me and breathe."
Regina groaned and looked at him. His eyes were filled with so much love. He didn't fear her; he never feared her. Whale, on the other hand, was quivering as if she'd set him on fire. Robin never looked at her the way others did. He didn't see her magic as a threat. He saw it as part of her and the things that make her who she is are what make her beautiful to him. She managed a smirk and started to breathe. "There she is," Robin said with a smile. "Deep breaths; just focus on me and I'll focus on you, alright?" Regina nodded and clenched her teeth again as she felt another contraction. She held Robin's hand tightly, but he didn't flinch.
"Alright, Regina. You have to push now. Just a few pushes and you'll be able to relax with a beautiful baby in your arms. While Regina's pushing, Robin I need you to count to 10. Once he reaches 10, take a 5 second break to breathe, and then repeat. Everyone ready?" Whale rubbed his hands together and positioned them like a quarterback waiting for the snap. As angry as that made her, Regina nodded and Robin began to count.
After the second cycle of counting, Dr. Whale said, "Almost there! Just one more big push. Here we go!" Regina squeezed Robin's hand and tilted her head back as she let out one more big push. She was careful to think about controlling her magic which made this whole process that much harder. She heard cries and then all the pressure she was feeling was gone. She lay back and rested her head against the pillow. When she was able to move her head, she looked down and saw her baby being cleaned off.
"Congratulations. You have a healthy baby girl," Dr. Whale said and handed the infant to her mother. Regina held her close to her and kissed her forehead. She couldn't contain her joy. She was crying and refused to let her go. Robin understood why and allowed her this moment. He hugged both of his beautiful girls close to him and kissed them both. His forehead touched Regina's as he said, "I love you." She looked into his eyes and smiled, "I love you too." The two remained there for a second and then kissed through their sobs, for they knew what was supposed to happen next.
Word had reached the Wicked Witch that the child was born to Regina and Robin and the curse was pushed up. Three days after the baby was born, the curse was to take everyone back to Storybrooke. After those three days, Regina and Robin sat at the edge of the woods with their newborn in her arms. Robin had the fairy dust that the blue fairy was kind enough to offer so they could make a portal to Hour Glass. They looked at each other and simultaneously grabbed each other's hands.
"I'm scared," Regina said to her husband. She was often scared, but it was never anything compared to this. Robin nodded, "I know. But look at Mary Margaret and David. They had to give up Emma the minute she was born. We shall consider ourselves lucky to have spent three days with our daughter. And Emma found them after 28 years. Think of how exciting it will be when we get to see her again once the curse is broken."
"Who knows how long that will be, Robin," Regina snapped. She paused for a moment realizing how hurtful she was being. This wasn't Robin's fault. "I'm sorry. I just-" That instant, there was a rumbling throughout the land. Roland came running toward them and sat in his father's lap. He buried his head into his chest. "The curse is coming," Robin said to his wife. "We have no other choice if we want her to live, Regina."
"I know," she sighed and a single tear fell from her face onto the child. "You will be well taken care of in this new land, my love. Please find us. We will be waiting for you. We love you, Willow." They both kissed their child and even Roland took her hand for a moment. Regina placed her in a basket as Robin sprinkled the dust over her. A portal opened and the family slid back as they watched her descend into the ground. Regina cried out and Robin held her in his arms as they sobbed together. The minute the portal closed there was a small breath of silence before the Wicked Witch's curse flew overhead. The couple held Roland close to them and looked into each other's eyes. "Whatever happens in this new world just know that I love you and I believe we made the right decision," he whispered to her. Regina replied, "Steal my heart in that world the way you did here. I love you, Robin Hood." The two kissed as the wave of the curse washed over them and swept them away.
