"Regina, you don't have to keep taking trips there alone. Why don't you let me come with you?" Robin pleaded with his wife as she started to walk out the front door. Willow eavesdropped from the top of the stairs, careful not to get caught. "Henry is with Emma and Roland is with Marian. We never get time alone anymore, even if it is just a trip to your vault." Willow's eyes lit up. The perfect place! "Robin! Keep your voice down. Our guest is upstairs and it wouldn't be right to leave her here alone. And we don't need her knowing about anything magical while she's in her current state," Regina scoffed.
Robin pulled his worried wife close to him and ran his hands down her back until they rested gently on her ass. She bit her lip and looked up. "Who cares? She's an adult. She knows we've been trying. Or trying to try." Regina rolled her eyes and said, "I know, I've been busy and stressed with this stranger in our house. I want to keep trying. Something is just off with me right now. Something in the universe has shifted since the day we found her. You don't feel it?" Robin nodded and said, "Of course I feel it, but the one thing that keeps me from giving into it is the time I spend with you." He kissed his wife passionately and started to remove her jacket.
Willow made sure they heard her footsteps as she stomped down the stairs. Whether she knew them for a few days or her whole life, the idea of her parents making out just wasn't something she wanted to witness. The two separated immediately and pressed their hands to their lips. "Good morning," she said brightly to them as they blushed. "I was just going to head out for a walk down by the pier. I was hoping the fresh air might help me remember so I can get out of your hair." "Oh no," Regina said quickly. "You're not a bother at all." Willow stopped and looked at them both and chuckled, "Yeah right."
Willow left the house and squatted behind a large bush in Regina's garden. She watched as the couple left the house hand in hand, stopping to kiss every so often. Gross. Once she was sure they were far enough, she followed them toward the vault. She watched Regina wave her hands in front of the vault to open it and enter first with Robin close behind. A locking enchantment. Simple enough to break if you know the right magic.
She stepped forward and waved her hands the same way Regina did and the doors swung open. Willow stood, proud of herself for using magic for the first time since landing in this realm. She walked through the doors and looked behind her before closing them. All that was inside was a grave that read, "Henry Mills, beloved father." Willow stood shocked for a moment as she ran her hand over the marble-top coffin. My grandfather, she thought to herself. With magic, she forced the coffin backward and descended the staircase into a dark hallway. There was one mirror at the end and Willow quickly stood very close to the wall. She was sure Regina could look through and spot trespassers through it.
There was a smell coming from behind the wall she leaned against. She heard Regina and Robin's familiar voices. She pressed her ear against the wall and listened. "What will this do?" Willow sniffed for a moment and immediately recognized the odor. She had practiced potions with her father in Hour Glass as well. This was one they didn't cover for very long and made only once, but she recognized it all the same. It was a fertility potion. Of course. They wanted a child and thought something was wrong... Well, soon enough they would learn the truth and what they want won't be very far from reach.
"It is a fertility potion. I never thought I'd have to use it, but it seems I do," Regina sighed. "The problem could be with me," Robin said gently taking her hand. She shook her head, "You've had a child before, Robin. Although Henry is my son, I never carried a child before. It has to be with me," she said. Willow shook her head from the other side of the wall and thought, If only you knew... She decided it was time to interrupt their moment. She raised her arms in front of her and disappeared from the hallway in a puff of purple smoke. She reappeared inside the room, directly across from the couple. They took a step back, in shock. Regina immediately raised her hands, but Willow blocked the attack. She thrust her hands forward and forced the couple against the wall. They took each other's hands and braced themselves for what would happen next.
"Oh, how cute," Willow said, observing their loving gesture toward one another. "Makes me sick," she added. "What do you want from us?" Robin asked. Willow chuckled. "You've spent the last few days believing I was a stranger with no home, no family, and no memory only to learn that I followed you here and know how to use magic... And that is the first question you have for me?"
"Who are you?" Regina asked. "Ah, that is the better question. Very good! My name is Willow. Unfortunately, if I tell you any more than that, I will have to kill you and I really don't want to do that. So let's just say that if you want to know who I am, you have to remember who I am," she began. "Now for your question," she pointed at Robin. "You are the embodied form of true love and I desire your hearts." Willow reached forward and removed their hearts, one in each hand. She held them up before their eyes. "It's a shame you fell in love Regina. I thought it would have been more difficult to find your heart, but I guess not," she laughed.
"If you're not going to kill us," Regina began, "What are you going to do with our hearts?" "Well, when one possesses a heart, they gain full control of the person they've taken it from. Isn't that correct, Your Majesty? You see I'm new at this." Willow laughed and continued, "I am going to send each of you on a task, but I won't be controlling your hearts. That's too easy. You have the ability to refuse my commands. However, if you choose not to do as I say, I will crush the heart of your true love right before your eyes. Now doesn't that sound like fun?!" Willow said excitedly.
Regina and Robin looked at one another and back at the woman standing before them; this small, innocent woman who they suddenly didn't recognize anymore in her new, evil form. "We'll do whatever you want," Robin said. "Fantastic! You can rest, don't worry." Willow released the charm that held them against the wall and they fell to the ground. Robin helped Regina onto her feet. "I don't need either of you just yet. We'll be in touch." Robin stepped forward and said, "When will you tell us what we have to do?" Willow turned swiftly as their hearts disappeared to a place only she knew about. With an evil smirk on her face, she approached them and said, "Predictability is boring. Where's the fun in that?" And with that, she raised her arms in front of her and disappeared in a puff of purple smoke.
"What was that all about?" Robin turned to his wife, hoping she would remember this strange woman from a time they were in the Enchanted Forest. "I have no idea, but I think I know a way we can figure that out," she said. He sighed, "Well do you mind letting me in on that idea of yours? Because I don't particularly like the idea of anyone else having my heart besides you." Regina rolled her eyes and said, "You know, I think you should be the one they call Charming." "Now is not a time for jokes, Regina."
While they bickered back and forth, Regina opened her many books of potions and spells looking for the one she needed most right now. When she found what she was looking for, she began to brew a potion. "What are you making?" Robin leaned over her. She pushed him back as a puff of magic dust formed before their eyes. Regina looked at him with a smirk. It was clear that she missed times where she could use magic. "It's a memory potion. I'm making enough for both of us. This woman said the only way we would find out who she is would be if we remembered her. We must know her somehow so drink up so we can find out and maybe get our hearts back, unharmed."
They each took a sip of the potion and stood there for a moment. Simultaneously, they both entered this daze of images and sounds. Memories flooded back to them. Memories that were stolen from them.
The curse is coming. We have no other choice if we want her to live, Regina.
I know. You will be well taken care of in this new land, my love. Please find us. We will be waiting for you. We love you, Willow.
Whatever happens in this new world just know that I love you and I believe we made the right decision.
Steal my heart in that world the way you did here. I love you, Robin Hood.
Robin and Regina looked at one another and grabbed each other's hands. They stared into each other's eyes and saw that they both remembered the same thing. At the same time they whispered through their tears, "Willow."
