It was after school and Paige was walking home with a smile on her face. She hasn't been this happy for a year! She was so excited so when she got to her street she ran back to her house.
No one was home yet. She was glad. She waited for the phone to ring. She sat on her couch when she heard the phone ring.
Paige ran to the phone and picked it up.
"Hello?"
"Hi. Is this Paige?" the woman on the phone said.
"Yep!"
"Alright. So would you like meet up with my daughter? At the park behind the school?"
"I would love to! Is it ok if we go now?"
"Yes it is. I will send my daughter there now. You two have a great time! Bye!"
"Thank you. Bye." Paige said.Paige ran upstairs, grabbed a long sleeved shirt to cover her scars. She was nervous. What if she didn't like Paige? What if she would judge her?
She put her thoughts to the side and ran back downstairs and out the door. She ran as fast as she could to the park and when Paige got there, the girl her age wasn't there just yet.
A minute later she saw a girl her age with long, brown hair.
"Are you Paige?" The girl said.
"I am!"
"Hi. I'm Abby. So..I heard about what happened this morning. Just know that you are amazing and now that I know you, I will always make sure you are ok." The girl said while smiling.
"Thank you so much. So, your mom told me that you have had problems with bullying? What exactly to people do?" I asked.
"People call me names and sometimes kids purposely try to trip me in the hall."Paige was surprised the Abby had so much in common with her. She also couldn't believe that Abby, Someone so skinny, perfect, and beautiful would be bullied.
"I'm sorry. I'm called names and people try to trip me too. It also feels like my parents hate me and one girl in school slammed my hand in my locker and told me I deserved it once.."
"Hey. Now that we are friends, I will stay by your side and make sure no one bullies you because no one deserves it."After talking for a while, Paige and Abby decided to walk home together. They found out that they only lived a street away from each other. While they were walking they saw a kid from school.
"Oh look. Lesbians. What idiots."
"Oh really. If we were lesbians we wouldn't just be walking together. Also if we were, would it matter? What if I made fun of you for being straight." Abby said.Paige looked at Abby with a worried look.
Abby looked back at her, smiled and said "it's ok. I've got this."
"Gosh. No need to be rude." The kid from our school said.
"Oh really. We are the ones being rude. Ya. That makes a lot of since." I said back to him, rolling my eyes.Abby and Paige continued to walk home. They eventually got to the top of Abby's street and said they would see each other tomorrow and walked home. Paige hasn't had this good of a day for a long time. For the first time, she went to bed happy, and not sad.
