Many years ago I was exiled from my pack. They told me that I was to leave and never return. Now I'm going back, despite what they said. This time I will be accepted.
"Lunar, Fate is here to speak to you," Miles announced. I nodded solemnly and he exited the room and Fate entered.
"This is an unexpected turn up, Fate. What brings you to these regions?" I inquire carelessly.
"You know what!" She hisses, his face muscles clenched. "You are the reason ... I can't keep it out of my head!"
"So it's true that you have regained your visions. Tell me, Fate, what happens?" Eagerness drips through in my voice but I couldn't care less.
"You know that information is strictly between The Elders and I." Fate says in an undertone.
"If that is the case, then why did you travel so far to speak to me?" I clamp my eyes onto hers with an inch gaze.
"Not to speak to you, but to see you. To see what you have become. You can't return."
"Can't, or shouldn't?" I was becoming more and more anxious by the second. What if she told me nothing? Hell, what if she knew nothing? What if she was just toying with my mind, predicting my every move?
"It would be the making if you, but it would break you in ways unimaginable."
"You and your riddles ... It is for the best. I need to know the truth. I need to know so many answers left abandoned that you are not willing to share."
"You know I have my reasons. Prove to me that you have yours."
I paused. "They deserted me when I needed them the most. They left me with nothing. They said I was faithless, unloyal and an unnecessary edition to the pack. I spat at them; I told them I'd never forgive them. Looking back at that day, I regret it." I turned so that it was facing away from Fate. "I survived as a lone wolf for so long. I was so a angry, so frustrated, so scared ... Until now."
"What changed?" She asked, violating my privacy. I didn't resist.
"I grew up."
I stormed out of the room after that.
