Why not me (taejun) pt.2

"are you okay now hyung?" Taehyun asked with worry written all over his face.

Sinffles amd hiccups was heard in the background. Yeonjun had calmed down from his crying and was mentally slapping himself for breaking down infront of Taehyun and his friends like that.

'im so weak' He snickered mentally.

The older of the two nodded in response. "y-yeah, im sorry for wasting your time, comforting me" He mumbled while fumbling his fingers.

Taehyun shook his head. "its okay hyung, im willing to do anything for you. You're my bestest friend yeonnie" He said with a frown and placed a hand on yeonjun's shoulder blade.

'a...friend'

"right... just a friend" Yeonjun whispered in an almost inaudible voice.

"what do you mean hyung?"

Unfortunately it was loud enough for Taehyun to hear.

Yeonjun snapped up to meet Taehyun's confused gaze. His face turned into a horror expression.

"n-nothing.." He stuttered.

Taehyun frowned. "are you hiding something hyung?" He asked. He bowed his head down, staring at the grassy ground with a hurt expression. He feels like yeonjun was hiding something from him, his long time best friend.

"n-no, taehyun-" Yeonjun shook his head.

Taehyun looked up with glossy eyes, tears starting to form at the end of his eyes. "taehyun" Yeonjun hugged Taehyun, tight.

"im sorry"

Yeonjun started to cry. It hurts just seeing Taehyun crying. Especially when he was the reason behind it.

Taehyun cried harder on yeonjun's chest making yeonjun's shirt wet. He hugged yeonjun tighter, he feels like he was the reason behind yeonjun's pain and he doesn't want yeonjun nor his friends to feel hurt or sad. He wants everyone to be happy.

The red haired boy hiccuped and wrapped his arms around yeonjun- making yeonjun's heart to beat erratically.

"im sorry." Taehyun mumbled with a strain voice.

"no..im sorry" Yeonjun said slowly letting go of his tight grip on Taehyun.

They broke the hug and looked at eachother's eyes under the moonlight. "why.." Taehyun started as he stares at Yeonjun, not breaking any eye contact.

"...were you crying?" He asked.

Yeonjun let his eyes wander around Taehyun's face. 'his so...beautiful' He thought sadly.

"because....because of something" He mumbled, letting his eyes linger on Taehyun's luring eyes.

Taehyun sighed. "i know that, that isn't the reason hyung." He said softly. "you can tell me anything yeon, I've known you the longest, i can tell whether you're lying or not so don't even try to reason with me." Taehyun added.

Yeonjun huffed. 'if you know me that much then why cant you see that i like- no scratch that, that i love you' He thought bitterly.

"hyung.." Taehyun called out softly. "just tell me anything okay? im here, ill listen." he added.

Yeonjun contemplated on answering. "i-if i tell you the reason..you might get weirded out." He said in a small voice and looked down.

Taehyun looked at him confuse. "what do you mean?"

The older sighed. "taehyun-ah. Are you aware that you are very dense?"

Taehyun grumbled. "what do you mean hyung? im so confused i wanna explode." Yeonjun chuckled at the response. "you might get mad at me." he said.

"hm? ill never get mad at you!" Taehyun defended.

Yeonjun rolled his eyes and stood up, dusting his pants from the dust. Taehyun looked up at him. "hey! im still talking!" He pouted.

yeonjun just smiled at the younger and held out his hand. "lets go somewhere hm?"

Taehyun smiled. "okay" He trusted his hyung, always will.

Soobin, Hueningkai and Beomgyu groaned in annoyance.

"where are they going now?! i thought yeonjun hyung would confess already." Hueningkai grumbled.

Beomgyu stared at the two boys who was now walking with an unknown expression. "he wouldn't do anything stupid to ruin our friendship right?" he said.

Soobin looked at him in disbelief and nudged him harshly. "yah! ive known yeonjun longer than any of you two, he wouldn't do that."

Beomgyu looked at him with a blank expression. "yeah?" he asked in a monotone voice.

Soobin scoffed with his hands crossed. "of course you idiot, now lets follow them"

Then the three sneaked behind the two who were walking further into somewhere far from their campsite.

Yeonjun sighed as he faced taehyun.

The two arrived in the car park where they parked their van.

"why are we here hyung?" Taehyun asked.

Yeonjun just kept silent and continued walking as they arrived in their van. He started to rummage inside which made the younger even more confuse.

"uhmm...are you..okay hyung?" Taehyun hesitantly called out.

Yeonjun looked back and smiled sheepishly. "uh yeah of course!" He continued rummaging inside- finding something. His face lit up when he finally found what he was finding for.

"here" he handed the thing to the younger, making Taehyun looked at it.

"what is this?" Taehyun asked but accepted the thing nevertheless.

Yeonjun smiled fondly. "well,..that necklace was given to me by my grandma, she told me to give it to the person i love the most."

Taehyun looked at the necklace with awe. The necklace has a gold chain with a moon pendant that was also gold in color, shining as the moonlight hit it ever so softly.

"wow..this is..why would you gove this to me hyung?" He asked and looked at Yeonjun.

Yeonjun smiled painfully at him. "that is what i need to tell you Taehyun. I like- no i love you. Even when we still a kid, when we were still in high school until we graduated in college and already have jobs. I loved you ever since and i dont think I can move on. But they say that, the first step in moving on is confessing so i think this is the best time to confess.

I know you're in a relationship with Beomgyu, i respect that i really do. I dont need you to answer this because i know you wouldn't feel the same and you never will. But I just want to ask one question. Why not me, Taehyun-ah?"
