11. A debt

The phone rang instead of the alarm.
He sat up at once and reach for the phone at study table. It was Yukino.
"Hello?"
"So you're still alive huh!? Good thing. I have discovered the book."
"Really?"
"It was burnt to ashes. And guess, by whom was it done? Your friend Mayuko. Seems like her brother was one of those three"
"i know about that"
"Hmm...good for you cause she fucked up our last way of getting this chain solved." her frustration was clear.
"Maybe not. I had the same nightmare last night and I met the man. He said it will end very soon."
"A dream? You believe that?"
"I think I have witnessed way more things above from my believe lately"
She sighed trying to agree "Just don't step into any mental pressure or disturbance too much ok? And don't even think of any stupid step like suicide."
"I wont, trust me. I think everything is getting better again" he smiled slightly.
"I hope you're correct",
She hung up eventually. He was about to jump back to his empty bed when another call arrived right after. He stepped back, tired and groaning.  It was Shin's number.
"Hello?"
"Kyo, its Mayuko. She jumped off her balcony. She is transferred to a hospital now"
"What the fuck? When?"
"I don't know goddammit! Just hurry"
"I am on my way"

"I will be coming back soon, Sakura. We will talk after I return" he excused while pulling the shoes up.

"But where are you going?" his rushing made her worry.
"Mayuko is in the hospital. I will tell you everything once I get back. Just wait for me" saying this, he dashed out towards the door when it opened all of a sudden.

Reeking of alcohol and messed up suit, his old man walked in, probably pissed to some point. Why now? He groaned.

"Where do you think you're going you shit?" He said after checking him in casual dress at morning.
"You're in no position to object, you drunk" the way drunk he seemed, its just a menace of trouble. Now Leaving him alone could be worrying too. He walked closer and grabbed his arm tight. "Listen,  go inside your room now and regain your shithead until I come back. Me and Sakura-san has got some talking to do with you."
"You little brat" it only did enrage him more, nothing unusual.
"Kyo-kun, you can go. Don't worry about here" she spoke from behind. Her confidence made him convince enough to leave. He looked back "I will return as soon as possible" saying this he dashed out.
"I will be waiting" she replied softly with a gentle smile.

"Like hell" whispered his father with a smirk.

Kyosuke ran as fast as possible, thanks for the hospital being close to both of their houses it made quicker the route.
Receiving the room number from reception, he made it to her at first floor. "Mayuko" he entered in a rush.

There she was, laid in the corner bed with Shin seated beside her. He walked closer. Her eyes shut with bandaged head and arms. "Where's her mother?"
"With the doctor" Shin replied focused at her. "What the fuck happened?"
"She fell from her balcony"
"Will she be okay?". "Yes. She has her consciousness too.
At their voices she finally gaped her eyes. "Kyo-kun" her voice feeble by pain. He smiled out in relief.
"I am sorry." Her eyes dropped.
"Don't be. There's no need to speak now"
"Yes there is. I swear I didn't do all of this on my own will. It manipulated me"
"I could figure. I knew my stubborn , silly gotilla would never do such stupid things." More than anything, it relieved him that she was safe and same.
"I had heard you two talking at terrace and so, last night I couldn't rest. I wanted to be out of it's control finally" her words struggled to utter. "Hey! Don't speak now. You can tell him later" Shin intervened out out only concern.
"No! I have to do it now. I couldn't do it before cause I don't remember how I fell down"
"What do you mean?"
"It told me exactly what it wants, but before that, tell me Kyo-kun. Did you visualize the chained man anywhere recently?" . It was surprising that she questioned this.
"In my nightmare last night. Why'd you ask?". Sakura drowned in gloom.

"You must go back now" She didn't bother to explain.
"Wait...why?"
"Because you have to. Please, if Sakura's there u must"
"what does it have to do with her?"
"Trust me. Please go. Don't let anything worse happen between you two anymore"
