"He's here, in the castle! Sirius Black!"

Delilah never thought it was possible to feel nauseous, lightheaded, and so panic stricken, while feeling nothing at all. She could feel the inflating and constricting of her lungs, the tightening of her chest, and her heart pounding in her ears, the blood draining from her complexion. Yet she was so numb.

The only direction she was able to avoid eye contact was down, but the lack of air filtering through the (what felt like) hundreds of bodies towering over and around her only laboured her breathing. It was a blur from then on.

Her rescuer took her by the wrist, stealthily weaved her down and out of the sea of students and didn't stop until they reached the entrance to the clock tower - one of her favourite locations in the entire building.

"You okay?" Caleb panted, pushing the doors open for them to enter.

"Yeah," she lied as they ascended the spiral staircase far less urgently.

"well, no. I-I," She debated with herself, "I just don't know," her shoulders sank in defeat, reaching the main attraction.

"I know what you mean. I don't know what I can say or do to make you feel better, well, other than that I'm always going to be here for you, and to look after you. As well as Fred, George, Cedric, Lupin. Everyone." They seated themselves along the rim of the clock, Delilah between the four and five and Caleb opposite her at the seven and eight.

"That's the thing though - what if they realise that we've got a murderer probably coming after us and they run for the hills? What if they realise they danger we're putting them in and decide they don't want to stick around?"

Delilah glared a hole at the courtyard below, two red headed twins appearing rather frantic as they called her name through cupped hands.

"How long will it be before we lose everyone?"

Caleb remained silent. He was unable to even consider providing an answer, simply because he didn't have one. Although he adored his little sister, he considered Cedric a best friend and an un-biological sibling, and their friendship was the true epitome of two peas in a pod. Delilah considered them to be as equally close as Fred and George were, if not closer. The thought of living without him would be like losing a limb.

"We're going to be just fine."

It wasn't answer she was hoping for, but his effort to console her didn't go unappreciated as she offered him a warm smile, which he returned.

Her smile soon faded as her eyes shifted back to the twins, Fred now pacing the courtyard and gripping at his ginger locks while George sat with his head in his hands on a nearby bench.

"Do they look like two people who are about to give up on you?"

She knew they wouldn't have bothered running after her if they were intending to leave her. They wouldn't appear so distressed if they didn't care.

"You should talk to them. Tell them how you feel."

The clouds gathered above them, the heavens opened and a low grumble erupted in the sky.

"I hope she's under cover, wherever she is." George stood from the uncomfortable stone seat, patting down the back of his corduroys to wipe away the moss and dirt.
