If anything good was to come from this year, it would be the excitement that built up to Christmas as the Weasley's. They were practically seven months pregnant from the layout courtesy of Molly, the festive decorations added a cosiness to tight space, the fragrance of fire whiskey, roast potatoes and cinnamon mingled between the continual roll of conversation. Though she was content, she couldn't help but notice how quiet Remus was around her, coy almost. She avoided his stare at all costs, the only words spoken between them being "thank yous" and "you're welcomes" after a short and rather awkward exchange of gifts.

Delilah managed to slip away from the table, despite the fact Fred and George were literally talking over her head. She sat on the floor in front of the couch in the living room, having a moment to herself after experiencing non stop noise for the past few days.

"Y'okay love?"

She would've internally groaned at the interruption, but she was rather pleasantly surprised that it was Fred.

"Yeah," Delilah shuffled over, Fred joining her on the floor. She opened her mouth to begin to speak, when Fred had craned his neck to look behind the couch.

"Where you goin?" He had spotted his younger sibling sneaking off up the stairs.

"Sending this letter to 'Mione. What's it to you?" Ron grunted but blushed profusely, Fred raising his hands in defence.

"Alright, I'm only bloody asking," He grumbled, Ron continuing with his business, "they should just get together already, put the poor lad out of his misery."

She scoffed incredulously,

"What, Ron and Hermione?! They're two completely different characters!"

"So?"

She wasn't sure if it was the glow from the fire, but he had a mischievous glint in his eye, a smirk stretching across his lips as he took in her every confused feature.

"They don't match. Not even in the slightest." She said matter of factly, folding her arms as she made her statement.

"Well we're quite different," He shrugged, her eyebrows now knitting together.

"Okay...? Your point?" She encouraged him to explain.

"We go together."

She began to laugh, nudging his shoulder with his own.

Amidst her giggling, Delilah soon realised he wasn't laughing, though that bemused expression was still present.

"Wait what?" Delilah had turned serious once again. He kept his act up well; appearing rather nonchalant with a grin set on the corner of his lip.

"If we were to fancy one another, we would work. Even though we're quite different." He explained, though his answer still didn't satisfy her.

"Well-"

"-Time to open more gifts! Fred, Ron, Delilah, come on!"

•••

Fred and George recieved pranking kit from Ron, a set of fireworks from Charlie, money from Percy, a voucher for Zonkos from Ginny, a set of muggle board games from Bill and a new matching outfit and grooming kit each from their mother.

Delilah had always politely declined gifts from Ron (because money was tight for him in particular), and Percy, Bill and Charlie simply because she'd said she rather them spend more money on their siblings, however she was grateful for the offer. Ginny had bought her a special edition bath bomb set by Honeydukes, Delilah bought her a new diary that required a combination to unlock it (Fred and George in mind upon purchasing it) and a Holyhead Harpies t shirt. She had bought Hermione a new school bag and a new set of quills and ink, Hermione buying her a bottle of perfume and a selection of scented candles .
