"How long have you had these feelings?" Steven asked curiously. Damien looked away, not even trying to sheild the red puffiness in his eyes. "…Twelve years, Steven. I've loved you for twelve, excruciatingly, long years." Steven was shocked by this statement; while he did love the other boy, he never thought he would like him back, especially for that length of time.
Steven looked down at the blue-colored rose Damien had given him for a moment, before setting it on the grass beside him. He then put his arms around Damien's waist, which caused a bright red hue appear on his face.
"S-Steven?! W-wha--" The hybrid cut him off, pressing his lips against the blond's; now it was Damien's turn to be shocked, as his green eyes began to water. After a few seconds, he kissed back, feeling the 12-years-old weight of stress being lifted from his shoulders.
Before either one realized, a bright light engulfed the the two diamonds, disappearing in mere seconds.

A comfortable silence filled the air. He sighed, picking up the rose as his eyes began to water. The fusion wiped off the tears with a small smile.
"I love you."
