Catching a Rat

We get out of the small room, hand in hand. We were not prepared to see, what we see next. All the rooms are occupied with a pair of sleeping couple. Some are sleeping on the open space too. The scene is too much, even for me. I hope they get up before someone comes up here.

"Wait a minute, isn't that..", Langie spins to look at a sleeping guy who is half inside a room, and half outside. ".. that pervert?"
"Nathan from the neighborhood." My brain starts to boil just looking at him. What is this rat doing up here?

"Is that his name?"
"Or, you can call him a super glue, or simply pervert is fine."
"Perfect names"
I go ahead to teach the rat another lesson. Looks like the nose therapy didn't work on him. How dare he gets inside our house and gets up on our roof?

"Faith!", both langie and I shout when we spot Faith laying on the floor of that room.
"What!" She opens her eyes and yawn.
"You and that pervert?", I ask. I can't believe that rat was actually with my sister.
"What do you mean, pervert? He's not like that.", Faith replies.
"What!", Langie sounds shocked. "I can assure you, he is."

I can't take this anymore. My fists tighten. "I'll beat the hell out of him today."
"No, Adym" Faith gets up. "Are you crazy?" She comes to stop me. "Wait, that's not my boyfrined."
"It's Nathan from the neighborhood.", we all say in unison.
Austin walks at us from the broken bathroom of the roof. "Morning babe" He smiles shyly at Faith. So, he is Faith's boyfrined, I figure. "What are you guys doing?", he asks.
Faith frowns. "There's an outsider here. I don't know when he came up, and how much he saw." She cringes at the last part.
"What shall we do with him?", Langie asks.
I look around. "Is there any rope? I want to tie this piece of shit up. He needs to learn his boundaries."
"I have an idea.", Faith says.

"Done", We high five after locking the bathroom door with dad's heavy Chinese lock.
"I'll keep the key", I say, taking it from my sister.
"Man, he was heavy.", Austin wipes a drop of sweat from his forehead and says.
"Yah. And stinky too.", I comment.
"Not to mention, drunk as hell", Langie says. "That's why he is still dead asleep after all these."
I keep the key inside my pocket. Not even afraid of losing the key, like I something do. "Let him sleep, boy I am hungry. We are going downstairs.", I say.
Faith pushes away Austin's hand from her waist, and says, "See you guys downstairs. I think we should take our lunch early, and start getting ready for beach after that."
We nod in agreement.
"Let's go, baby.", I put an arm around my baby's shoulder and say.

"So, you're scared of climbing down the stairs, huh?", Langie says laughing. I think got her good with my prank last night.
"I am not, okay." A sudden naughtiness takes over me, and I pick her up, making her nearly scream in surprise. "See, I can even carry my girlfriend while getting down."
I try to be extra careful about climbing down, because of the possibility of getting distracted by her, and find myself busy thinking if the way I put the word 'girlfriend' was smooth enough or not.

She holds on to my shirt and says, "Please be careful, Adym. You know how scared I am of stairs."
"Think about it", I whisper. "If we fall now, we'll die together."
The fear suddenly vanishes from her eyes, and a smile forms on her lips. "I don't mind dying, then."
A sigh escapes from me when I shake my head. This girl is crazy.

"Oh. Adym, Langie", mom, who was coming up, stumbles in shock and says. She covers a side of her face with a hand and giggles like a little girl. "I didn't see anything, I didn't see anything."
She continues to climb up, leaving us there, shocked.

"Clearly, she didn't see anything.. yet", Langie says.

"Wait till she sees the roof." I smile and lick her lips, before deeply kissing them.

er eyes sparkle. "Let's run before she catches us.", she suggests.
I rush down, carrying Langie, before my mother can come again and find us. It is gonna require a lot of explanation to calm her down.
