Marvel
"Glimmer, behind you!" I yelled to her. The blond killing machine whipped around just in time for a girl to bring a sword to her leg. Before it impaled her, I threw one of my spears in the girl's shoulder.
She tipped off balance, and Glimmer had enough time to shove an arrow through her throat. The girl fell to the ground, drowning in her own blood.
I turned around and threw a spear at a girl who was running away with a backpack. She was already quite a distance away, so the spear stopped just short of her.
"Damn it! Clove!" Once she turned around, she was already sprinting towards the girl. The braid whipping behind her looked awfully familiar....
"It's Katniss!" Glimmer shouted while shooting an arrow at one of the tributes. "Get her Clove!"
I turned around to see a boy coming at me with a spear. I laughed, he wasn't even holding it right. I lunged towards him and grabbed near the spearhead, and yanked it out of his hands, then thrust it into his chest.
I grabbed the spear again and ran towards the mouth of the cornucopia, where Clove was wrestling with another girl. The girl from 4. There was a clear shot for her throat, and I took it with no second thought.
"Thanks, Marvel." Clove said breathlessly.
I looked around at the carnage. "I guess that's it."
Glimmer came up to us, slinging her bow over her shoulder. Cato also joined us, sheathing his sword.
"Great job, team." He said. He turned his head, as if he heard something. His jaw tightened. I looked in the direction he was looking, and saw something in the bushes at the edge of the opening. Glimmer and Clove looked too.
"It's the boy from 12!" Clove sprinted towards him, knife in hand. Before he had the chance to run, Clove tackled him and held the knife to his throat.
"W-w-wait. Don't k-kill me!"
"Why not?" Glimmer drew back her bow and aimed it at his head.
"Because I can help you find Katniss."
"How do we know you aren't going to help her? Didn't you admit to your little crush?"
"It was just an act. To weaken her!" The boy struggled under Clove's grip, only making her push down tighter.
"How do we know we can trust you?"
"Because I want to live as long as I can. And I have nothing to lose."
Clove hesitantly stood up and sheathed her knives. "If you go back on your word," She stopped and looked around at Glimmer, Cato, and myself, "It's a very small arena, and somebody has got to win."
The boy nodded slowly and tried to get up.
Clove put her boot on his chest. "What's your name, boy?"
"Peeta. And I'm older than you, Clove."
I raised my eyebrows and smirked. "He's definitely Career material, Clove." I pushed her off of him and helped him up.
"Wait til the end, Marvel." She glared at me. "Come on, we have to disperse from the clearing so they can clear out the bodies."
"Do you all have what you need?" Cato asked. "What about you, Peeta, did you grab a pack from under our noses?"
Peeta shook his head and held it up.
"Good for you. Let's go kill something." Glimmer slung her bow over her shoulder again and led us all into the forest.
