Silent wolf

Chapter 5

CAMERONS POV

I was working on some paperwork in my office when my beta and best friend, Daniel, mind linked me.
"Alpha, we smell a rogue on our territory. What would you like us to do?" He said.

"Find it and get it off my land by any means necessary. The last thing we need is a rogue attack." I reply.

After a few minutes pass, Daniel mind links me again.

"Cam, I think you should come down here and look at this."

I sigh. "Why is it so hard to get rid of one rogue?"

"It's a female, dude. She's also pretty small and bone thin. We are also keeping our distance right now cause she's asleep and we don't want to scare her and make her run."

"Alright," I say. "I'll be right there."

With that, I walk out of my office and out of the pack house. Once I reach the edge of the woods, I shift into my large black wolf and take off in the direction of the rogue. As I near their location, I smell the most beautiful smell I have ever smelt.

SARAHS POV
I was fast asleep dreaming when all of a sudden the greatest smell hit my nose. Even in my dream I could smell it. Lea was jumping around like a nut and I had no clue why. I opened my eyes and looked around for the thing carrying the wonderful scent. My nose directed me towards a thick cluster of bushes a couple of yards away. I quickly stood up and walked slowly over to them.

Once I was about half way there, four big wolves popped out. There was a black and white wolf, a black wolf, a reddish color wolf and a brown wolf. I was so caught up in my thoughts that I hadn't noticed the black wolf start to my his way over to me. He was about twice the size of me and he was kinda scary but he seemed to be the carrier of the beautiful scent. Lea was chanting in my head, MATE!

I looked over to him and the other wolves and realized that they could kill me at any moment. I was a rogue most likely on their land and I've heard stories of alphas killing trespassers. I decided to make a life or death decision and run. The wolves advanced a few more steps towards me before I spun around out of my frozen position and took off in the opposite direction of them. Lea started whimpering in my head but I was pro life over death by a brutal attack.

I ran as fast as I could, hearing their large masses following swiftly behind me. We weaved through brush and plants as they tried to catch me. I looked around as I ran to see if I could find a place to hide and luckily, just a few yards away was a fox den just big enough for me and not the other wolves to get into.

I darted straight over to it but with my luck, I tripped. My front paw got stuck in a raised tree root and I went flying to the ground with a loud thud. I laid there for a couple of seconds because the wind got knocked out of me but I still jumped up and kept running. Well, trying to run. My ankle hurt like crazy so more like limping away but to no avail. I was about 6 feet from the fox den when the four wolves blocked my path. I tried backing away from them but they quickly surrounded me completely.

I whimpered in defeat and sat down. Lea started jumping around again chanting mate! as the black wolf walked over to me. I averted my eyes to the ground, staring at my paws. I felt him nudge me with his snout but all I did was tense up and start to shake.

CAMERONS POV (where I left off from his pov)

I walked over to Daniel and the two warriors he brought with him. They were all standing behind some thick bushes, watching a small wolf sleep a few yards away. MATE!, my wolf, Alex, was screaming. I looked at Dan and he knew what I was thinking. I walked out from behind the bushes to see my beautiful mate awake and standing curiously in front of me a few yards away. I started to walk towards her along with the others but before i could stop her, she started running.

I let out a small growl and we began the chase. For a small, emaciated wolf, she was pretty fast and agile. We weaved through trees and over branches and brush. She began to run faster and I looked to where. There was a fox hole about 10 yards away that she could fit in. I knew if she reached it, we wouldn't be able to get her out. I was almost caught up to her when I saw her trip and fly to the ground. I became worried because she didn't get up quickly but after a few seconds, she began running again. Actually more like limping. She must've hurt her ankle when she tripped. I called to my guys and we all got her surrounded. She tried to run again but we had built a barrier around her. She seemed to realize this, sat down in defeat and just starred at her paws. I walked over to her and nudged her with my snout but she flinched and tried to move away. I let out a small whimper but left her so I could go shift. The other guys did the same.

When I walked back towards her in my human form, I found her right where we had left her but now curled into a ball with her paws over her eyes. I chuckled at my mates adorableness and kneeled down next to her.
"You have to shift, baby." I calmly stated to her. She lifted one paw off her eye and gave me an 'are you crazy?!' look.

The guys standing behind me tried to stifle their laughter but they failed miserably. I glared at them and turned back around to my mate. I didn't want to use alpha command on my mate unless I absolutely had to, so I tried asking again.
"Can you at least stand up?" To this she did respond to as she slowly stood up. She immediately put her tail between her legs and put her head down, refusing to look at me. I put my hand under her chin and lifted it up so she would look me in the eyes. She tried to move away but I held her in place. I looked into her beautiful green eyes and asked again for her to shift. Again she refused but I could tell she wanted to. There was just something holding her back from doing so.

Daniel walked behind me and put a hand on my shoulder.
"She not gonna shift man. She's small enough to carry so just carry her back but remember, she is technically still a rogue so be careful."

I carefully moved my arms around her small body and lifted her as not to hurt her. Luckily, she didn't object. Instead, she got more comfortable in my arms. I guessed her wolf told her she could trust me and to calm down. My wolf, Alex, sighed in content and we walked back to the pack house.

When we arrived back, she was fast asleep. I carried her to my room at set her wolfy body on my bed and I layed down beside her, petting her. She snuggled closer to my in her sleep and after a few minutes, I was asleep too.
