Never Be

Chapter 1

Its funny how in just moments, someone you love can turn into nothing more than a memory.

At least that's what we thought happened.

At least that's what he wanted.

Maybe there was more hope for him, but he was just to blinded by his pain to see it, or maybe he had every fucking reason to want to end his life.

~Nova's POV~

I was on my way to meet my best friend, Calum Hood at Starbucks.

We rarely see each other anymore, because he's always touring.

As I walked, the only person on my mind was Luke.

Luke, Michael and Ashton are also really close friends of mine, that I had met through Calum.

Calum and I have been friends for as long as I can remember.

I had only met Luke and Michael in the first year of high school, and then I met Adhton when he joined the band.

Now they're famous, and touring with One Direction.

I've had the biggest crush on Luke, since I've met him.

He's sweet, kind, and adorable.

Michael tells me that Luke likes me, but I highly doubt it.

Ashton tells me that Luke and I are meant to be, and Calum, well he actually doesn't know that I like Luke.

There isn't really a reason, I just haven't told him yet.

I get to Starbucks and go inside to find Calum sitting at a table in the corner waiting for me.

I snuck behind him, and hugged him tightly.

"Nova." He smiled, getting up so we could hug properly.

"Sorry I'm late, I had to walk."

"It's okay, don't worry. So, how's everything?"

"Good. What about you?"

"It's been amazing, but I really wish you would come on tour with us." Calum said.

"I don't know. What's so fun about touring with 4 gross and sweaty boys, anyway?" I said.

"Hey! We are very fun."

"I know, I know. I was just kidding."

"Do you want something to drink?" Calum asked me.

"An iced coffee." I said, taking my wallet out, to give him money.

"I'll pay for it." Calum insisted.

"No, you don't have to, Calum, it's fine."

"But I want to."

"Well, if you want to." I smiled.

"Oh my god, it's Calum Hood!" A girl screamed, running up to Calum.

I took out my phone to see that I had a text from Luke.

Luke- Do you want to maybe go to dinner with me, tonight?

I smiled at the text.

Me- Sure :-)

Luke- K, I'll pick u up at 6?

Me- Perfect, see ya then.

I put my phone down and looked to see Calum taking a selfie with the girl and hugging her, before he went to order our drinks.

He came back and gave me my iced coffee.

"Thank you." I said, taking a sip.

"You're welcome." He smiled.

I listened to him talk about some of the things that happened on tour, and then he drove me home.

"You wanna come in?" I asked.

"Sure, i don't have anything better to do."

I playfully smacked him.

"I was just kidding, I'd love to."

I unlocked the door, and he followed me inside, and to my room.

He sat down on my bed.

"Luke asked me to dinner tonight." I said.

"Really, like a date?"

"I don't really know actually, but I really like him."

"Oh, for how long?" Calum said.

"I don't know, since I met him."

"O-oh."

He took out his phone and looked at it.

"I have to go, my mum needs me at home for something." He shrugged.

"Oh, okay." I said, I walked him to the front door, and hugged him.

"I'll see you tomorrow." He said, before leaving.

It was now 4:30, so I went to shower.

I put on a casual dress, that was pretty, but wasn't too fancy.

I put on some flats, and did my hair, and some simple makeup.

It was now 5:30.

I took out my laptop and went on tumblr to pass the time.

At exactly 6 pm, there was a knock on my door, and I went to open it.

"Y-you look really pretty." Was the first thing Luke said, before hugging me.

"And you look handsome." I complimented him. "I've missed you, how's touring been?"

"Amazing." Luke said. "You should really come with us, on the next tour."

"I'll think about it."

He smiled, and I locked my front door, before following Luke to his car.

He opened the door for me, and I went inside.

He ran to the other side, getting in.

The drive was short, and silent, and when we got to the restaurant, he ran to open the car door for me.

We went inside, and the waiter lead us to a table.

"You're so pretty." Luke said to me as I was looking at the menu.

I started to blush.

"Especially when you blush." He said, making me blush even more. "Have you seen any of the other guys yet?"

"I saw Calum earlier today, but I haven't seen Ashton or Michael yet."

"They all missed you." He said. "I missed you, too."

"I missed them, too and I missed you. You know what, I'll probably come on tour with you guys. I just have to talk to my parents and see what they say, but they'll probably say yes."

Luke smiled, and then the waiter came to take our orders.

The date went by quickly and Luke and I talked a lot about what happened here, while they were gone on tour.

He took me home and walked me to my front door,

"I had a great time, thank you." I said to him.

"I-I." He started to say, but instead he leaned forward and kissed me. "I had a great time too, goodnight."

He turned around and left, and I went inside, a smile on my face.

My parents were out of town on a business trip, so I was home alone.

I went to my room and cleaned my make up off, before changing into my pajamas, and getiting in my bed.

I feel like something's up with Calum.

It's probably nothing.

I scrolled through Instagram a bit, before going to sleep.
