After that stuff became amazing for Amy.

She started going back to school, but she spent the weekends going to the hospital.

She had been going there for two and a half weeks to see her mom and they'd been talking, laughing and praying, and Amy was having the time of her life.

There was a time when Amy was reading the Bible for her mom and she stumbled across a scripture that was by far her favorite after she'd read it.

I John 1:7-8

7. Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.

8. Anyone that does not love does not know God...

It made Amy feel warm inside knowing her mom was enjoying her time left.

And even though she knew her mom would be gone soon, she was willing to be happy first.

Three days later, Amy and her mom started going to church, and life couldn't be better for them, at least at the moment.

The sermons were always awesome and Amy and her mom paid special attention to them. They were always disappointed when the sermon ended.

They spent their time evangelizing to people in their street. People became surprised that the unreligious Sanders were now Christian. But Amy didn't really see Christianity as a religion. She saw it as a way of life.

Amy's dad didn't show up at all, but Amy didn't want to think about it. All she wanted to think about was how finally, life was starting to look up for her, and especially for her mom.

And that was when something awful happened.

Amy and her mom were in the kitchen, starting to cook something for lunch, when Amy's mom started gasping for air.  'Mom? MOM!' Amy cried.

She called an ambulance, sitting on the ground and being sober waiting for them to come.

'Oh mom, God will save you', Amy whispered, touching her mother's pale face.

The ambulance showed up a few minutes later. Two slightly muscly men with black beards carries Amy's mom into the back. Amy stayed with her mom, and they let her, alone, while one of the men entered the shotgun seat while the other started the car, and they started their journey to the hospital.

.............................................................

'Back at the hospital!', Amy thought. She was mortified that something awful had happened to her mom. It was similar to what happened before, but why did it happen again?

The same waiting room that Amy stayed in with Josh was the one she was led to, though she did not see Jane Terryman anywhere.

Amy started pacing the room, her thoughts becoming more gruesome. What if something really bad happened this time?

What if her mom would-

No, Amy told herself strictly. I won't think like that. I just need to calm down and pray.

Amy willed her legs to stop shaking. Se got on her knees and began to pray,

'Dear God, I know I haven't been a Christian for that long but please answer this prayer. I need my mom alive. Who will take care of me? My dad is never around. And even though I go and live with Aunt Miranda and Mindy, it just won't be the same. Please. I prayed to you the other time I came here with Josh, and you answered. So please answer now. Please God, please.'

Amy got up, tears springing from her eyes. She knew that it was not all the time that God performed some huge miracle. But she was hoping against hope against hope that her mom would turn out okay.
