Shuichi opened the door to the apartment, throwing his bag in the messy pile of him and his boyfriend's coats and shoes by the door. Speaking of him, where was the little troublemaker?

"Kokichi...?" Shuichi called, peering into their shared bedroom.
Shuichi walked over to their bed, where he collapsed onto a big pile of clothes, pillows, blankets to sleep. Until the pile yelped. Shuichi sprang up and pushed around the mess until he saw he saw Kokichi, curled up in his sweaters and looking more miserable than he'd ever seen him.

"Kokichi?" He said, looking at the usually hyper and aggressive boy. He peered up at him, suddenly coughing.

"You woke me up!" Kokichi pouted, teasingly pretending to be mad. "How rude."
Shuichi noticed that his voice was weaker and he looked exhausted, not to mention his constant sneezing.

"No offense, but you look awful! Are you sick?", He asked, concerned for his lover.                         "S-should I get some medicine... or something?"

"Whaaaat? Shuichi is worried about me, how cute!" Kokichi chirped, dodging the question.

"I'll take that as a yes. You had 12 hours of sleep, Kokichi. And you never even sleep in usually! Why else are you sleeping now?" He said.

"Don't be silly, I'm not sick, not in the slightest bit! If you must know, I didn't reaaaaally sleep last night. I was playing games! All night!" he replied with a giggle.

"Kokichi, we both know that's not true", Shuichi said, recalling last night when they both snuggled together in bed, Kokichi falling asleep first and Shuichi planting little kisses on his head until he fell asleep too.

"Also, what's the deal with all these popsicles? We just bought them yesterday and the box is empty", He said, noticing the box by his foot and the sticks that littered the floor.

"Nothing, nothing. Kokichi has a top-secret DICE mission, nishishishi!" He lied with another giggle. The popsicles really just soothed his throat. Plus, they were grape!

"Well, uh, okay. There's another box in the freezer, if you want. Sorry I woke you up, you can go back to sleep. I have a shift at the grocery store now, so I have to go." Shuichi said, giving his partner a quick kiss on the cheek. He didn't really have a shift, but he needed to buy things for his sick boyfriend. Stroking his hair until he heard his small breaths that indicated sleep, he got up and laced his shoes, grabbing his wallet on the way out.

Running his fingers through the aisles, Shuichi hurried to get back to Kokichi. Shuichi looked through the cold and fever section, not even having the slightest idea of what to get. He threw in cough drops, fever-reducing pills, soup, and a pack of grape soda cans (only the best for his perfect supreme leader!).
He pulled his phone out of his pocket and quickly googled "cold and/or fever medicines", hoping be informed of what to buy. It was much more difficult when he didn't even know all the symptoms! He threw in another packet of cough drops, Pepto Bismol (which he hated because it reminded him of blood), migraine pills, Tylenol and even Pedialyte, in case Kokichi had a stomach bug or his throat hurt too much to drink plain water. God, how he hated the bugs.          There was a time when they both caught the flu at a summer carnival and spent most of the night taking turns paling almost green and making a beeline to the wastebasket under Shuichi's desk, or the toilet if they thought could make it.

Finally satisfied with the mess of unnecessary medicines in his basket (better safe than sorry, he kept thinking), he walked over to the self-scanner and began scanning things from the pile of bottles and pills.

Shuichi opened the door with a clatter and rustle of the bags and items inside. Now, the hardest part of his mission: to get Kokichi to agree to let Shuichi take care of him. He walked over to their bedroom door, carefully moving aside some sweaters in the pile. Kokichi wasn't there. Shuichi groaned, knowing that Kokichi refused to believe that he was sick and probably went out somewhere. He pulled his cell phone out of his back pocket and texted him instead of bothering to look for him.

kokichi, come home asap, it's an emergency. xoxo shuichi Read

Good. As long as he read it, Shuichi could guarantee Kokichi would come home now, as he really cared about his boyfriend.

Oh, speak of the devil. Around ten minutes later, the door was shoved open and Kokichi came running in. He was pale and his cheeks were a hot red, a sheen layer of sweat on his forehead. He really was sick. He looked just about ready to collapse.

"Shuichi! What happened, are you okay? Are you hurt?" he said, looking Shuichi up and down frantically.

"Nothing happened. I'm fine, but you're most definitely not." Shuichi said, brushing his fingers over his forehead.

"Holy shit, you feel like an oven! Do you need another popsicle?" He asked, his worry growing.

"Nooooo. I'm fine, I swear! I just liked the popsicles." Kokichi said, pretending to be exasperated as an escape tactic in the conversation. "Hey, is that Pedialyte?" He peered over Shuichi's shoulder and looked at the counter.

Shit. Shuichi hadn't hidden it from plain view yet, and Kokichi would definitely refuse to take anything for his cold. "Well, yeah-" He started.

"What for?" Kokichi pestered, an innocent smile clinging to his lips

"I uh- I have..." Shuichi looked over at the label frantically. "Diarrhea!"

"Eww. Bad question." Kokichi said, making a face. "Well, um... if it's okay, could I have some?"

        "Finally admitting?" Shuichi smirked playfully.

"Fiiiiine. Shuichi wins this time. I think it's a fever..." Kokichi said feebly, before letting out a string of coughs. "I was feeling wonky this morning, so I got out of bed to take my temperature."

"What was it?" Shuichi asked quickly.

"93! I had you fooled didn't I? I'm not sick at all, I just wanted Pedialyte because it tastes good!" Kokichi grinned, finding the opportunity to take back his confession about being sick.

"Nice try. You had me till the last part, to be honest. Pedialyte's nasty. Remember the time we were both sick and had to drink that stuff?" Shuichi laughed. "Now go get some rest. I'll make soup!"

Kokichi stuck out his toungue in but trudged to their bed in defeat, where he almost immediately fell asleep, enveloped in his boyfriend warm, nice smelling sweaters.

Kokichi got over the fever quickly, in just a few days, although it felt like weeks to poor Saihara. As a thank you gesture for taking care of him, though, Kokichi took Shuichi on a surprise date at their favorite cafe. One hand holding the cup of coffee against his lips and the other intertwined with Kokichi's delicate fingers, Shuichi suddenly sneezed. Shit.

       "Hah! Look who's sick now!"
