"maybe he's not so mad at us.." hoseok whispered in the living room. the whole day, they watched yoongi skillfully take care of the kids

they sat and watched, trying to clean up the mess so they didn't look lazy or some shit. helping yoongi silently change diapers when needed

as soon as the door to the kids room shut, yoongi walked to them with the same hardened glare and crossed arms. his face showing nothing but annoyance

"y-yoongi..." jimin was first to speak but he was cut off

"i spoke to the kids. they promised to be easier with you. they just thought i was being replaced that's why they were like that." yoongi explained nonchalantly

"oh." namjoon replied.

there were no words after that, they watched yoongi silently. the man had black baggy sweatpants and a thick purple hoodie. his black hair was frizzled and curled and he looked, ethereal

just as yoongi turned on his heel, seokjin spoke softly

"thank you... we really are thankful for what you've done"

"you're thankful i quit the team?" yoongi scoffed

he put their hands up in defense, "n-no! that's not it. that's not what we mean. we're just thankful you helped us out and all."

it was silent for an awkward amount of seconds before yoongi spoke

"you lack technique." he commented

"what?" namjoon stood taken aback.

"you lack momentum. taehyung, your unsteady dribbles are sloppy and predictable. seokjin, your ball curves the wrong way provoking you from a perfect shot. with jimin's agility, he works as a small forward not a power forward. hoseok's aim is better and more accurate, but his lack of precision prevents him from scoring

jungkook, you pay more attention to an opponents  eyes than you do with the fucking ball. and you, namjoon, youre doubting yourself every second and put your trust in your team, more trust than you put trust in yourself." he pointed out. to every one of them

"yoon- ..." jungkook was cut off

"i mean this in the best way possible. but there's much more, still it's not about me criticizing you, i'm just showing you what you can't see. you guys are good... but.."

he stared at jungkook for a short moment.

"the moment you threw the ball, you didn't look where you were throwing it. you gambled the risk of your team's name, but you still made it because you felt secure. you felt reassured, it felt right. you felt their trust. you felt confident." he whispered.
