The aromatic Indian tea from the bedside woke up Priyanka from her sleep, without any regrets she drank the drink till the last drop without brushing her teeth.
Priya was a very good daughter to her father but she hated mornings. She wasn't a morning person , after the aroma of the tea faded her mood became grumpy too, she went to the bathroom to get ready for the day. A part of her wanted to go back to bed and the other part told her she should dress well to impress her prospective groom, who's coming to meet her at the office as he's leaving to Delhi this evening. She wanted to wear a little make up, ofcourse she wanted to look beautiful . On an average day if someone sees her they would call her a pretty girl and if the right dress and some make up is worn then she can make all the people in the room turn around with her doe eyes and lush rosy lips, she had an oval face with a pretty nose that's a bit blunt on the tip. Priyanka was on the shorter side and her dusky golden skin was always shining. She didn't want to over do it or look underdressed and ofcourse it was at her office so she didn't want to look too informal. She decided on wearing a floral kurta and white pencil pant. For the no make up look she just drew a line in her eyelids with the eye pencil and added a little blush to her cheeks.
Her Dad was preparing food in the kitchen and her little brother was eating breakfast."Sorry papa I'm late today" she joined in for breakfast
" Haha you're always late" commented her little brother Vivek
" Sush! , Papa dinner is my job. Ok?"
She wanted to make her always working Dad a little stress free so she always makes the dinner. Her father who was cooking only smiled at her assurance. Mr.Mathur has been mostly cooking since the demise of his beloved wife Aditi but his kids have always been very supportive and helpful for him and very obedient to their father because he has only been a good , religious man . They have never seen their Father make a mistake or do something wrong and it only made them love him and respect him too much, too much to the point that Priyanka was ready to marry the guy she had to meet today because her father thinks it's a good proposal." Beta , dont forget the meeting " he handed her the tiffin box, smiling at the apple of his eye
" Ofcourse" she replied to the tall man she had to obey no matter what she felt
David Morrison, more popularly known as Dave Morris is a Travel and wild life photographer who is equally popular for his looks that he is also known as a model and now he was running late for the meeting he had with a magazine company, the barn owl nextdoor didn't let him get his good night sleep as he was up all night trying to get the right photo of her. Skipping breakfast is the best solution to reach on time he decided. Getting ready he combed his hair that fell till his neck
Back in place, he could actually tie little ponytail with his hair but there wasn't time for it, scratching his 10 day old stubble, he slid his plain white T-shirt down his broad shoulders and hard bodyPriya's job wasn't that fancy but her office surely was. Her office was at the 3rd floor of the 10 storey building and she had agreed to meet Ansh her prospective groom at the Starbucks in the 1st floor. Adjusting her dress and sucking in the anxiousness she looked at herself for the last time in the mirror. Priyanka went to the cafe and he enetred, Ansh was a tall thin man with a thick moustache and under it a long lips. Priyanka hated facial hairs because of her dislike her father stopped growing moustache, he was wearing a formal checked shirt and a formal pant .Adjusting his power glass, he smiled his smile reaching his wide set protruding eyes. Priyanka tried giving back the same genuine smile but she failed so she faked her smile as they both sat. Ansh was so enthusiastic about the wedding which only scared her more. He talked a lot, about him and his parents and their future but he failed to ask anything about her she thought. Words failed to come out of her mouth, she wanted to tell him to not rush but she couldn't.Her blunt words would hurt him she thought and besides her dad was happy with this, Ansh seems happy.
she kind of hated being the stereotypical Indian girl called Priyanka entering an arranged marriage to a typical family guy for the sake of her parents . She wanted to run away from there, but she was this middle class girl who had to do the right thing always because she had a father who didn't put his needs and happiness before his kids . All she wanted was to find out who she was without all the tags and stereotypes , to find love as an individual . To fall in love with a man for what he is and not because their horoscopes matched or because her father is friends with his father or because the dowry they demanded was reasonable to none!. These thoughts in her head were rubbished by her own mind , she wasn't ready to accept these immature and impractical thoughtsHeyy , back with a new story
