My stepdad

Bad news

It's Monday morning the first day of my sophomore year "ugh" I groan as my alarm goes off repeatedly. I jump out of bed and get in the shower  blasting some Shawn Mendes and yes I have a huge crush on Shawn Mendes I have ever since Freshman year. I get out the shower blow dry my hair and straighten it I apply a small amount of make up just a bit of foundation and some mascara and lipgloss. I go to my closet trying to find a cute outfit so I can't look good for my first day back at school. 

I finally get dressed and go down for breakfast I go to the kitchen seeing my mom and Lucas making breakfast together. They turn and look at me "omg my baby's going into sophomore year" my mom says coming over and hugging me I laugh "yeah I can't believe it either" I pull away from the hug and check my phone to see a text messages from Lake.

L- OMG CANT WAIT TOO SEE YOU AGAIN ITS BEEN FORVER AND GIRL ITS OUT LAST YEAR OF HIGH-SCHOOL THIS IS CRAZY MEET ME AT THE PARKING LOT IN 20 MINUTES 💖💖💖

M- ikr it's so crazy to think we are sophomores and yeah see you in 20 💗

"Hey darling sit down me and Lucas made you your favourite breakfast chocolate chip pancakes" I sign "I'm not hungry I think I'm gonna go now first day back don't wanna be late"  My mom frowned "ok bye have a good first day love you" I smiled "love you too" Lucas waved at me and said "have a good first day" I just blanked him and walked out. I got into my new Audi which I got over the summer and started to drive to West High school.  

I pull up the full parking lot of school I get out trying to spot Lake I see her standing next to her BMW I run too her and squeeze her. "OMG I missed you so much" I yelled and I was still squeezing her "I missed you more but I can't breathe" I laugh and pull away from the hug. We start walking towards the building "so how was your summer in Thailand then" I ask Lake very excited to here about her vacation "oh it was amazing I had the best time I met so many cute boys the next time I go your coming with me" I laugh. "So how was your summer with your mom and Lucas" I sign thinking about my summer break "it was ok I guess visited a few states and I even went to New York to see my dad it was amazing" lake jumped in excitement "omg you got to see your super rich dad and his model girlfriend how were they what's his house look like" she starts  throwing all these questions at me. "Um yeah he lives in a mansion and his girlfriend is super pretty she even wants me to do modelling with her the next time I visit" I say "omg the next time you go I'm coming" lake says very happily. The truth is my father had taken his own life when I was 12 I never knew him since him and my mom divorced when I was 5 and yes I am lying to lake even though I have know her forever it's just I don't want it to get out about my father and I just wanted to fit in and have proper family like Lake and everyone else. 

I walk into my first period which was English with Mr Bell. Mr Bell was the best he's been my English teacher since my junior year he's really funny. "Yo It's Lake and Mia" he shouts as we enter the room me and lake burst out laughing "Hi to you to Mr Bell" I say taking my seat. The first period went really fast Mr Bell was just explains what we will be doing this semester and talked about finals. Second period me and lake had different  classes I had math with Miss Taylor this was my first time being in one of Miss Taylor's classes but I had heard she was good teacher anyway I walk in seeing some of the popular jocks omg am I seriously in a class with them I take my assigned seat which surprisingly is next to the most popular jock in school James Berry. I dont know much about James all I heard was junior year he got arrested for driving without a licence and can't get a driving licence until he's 21. We were half way through class when James nudges me "hey can I have a pencil" I hand him a pencil 5 minutes later he judges me again "what's your name again" I look at him "Mia" I reply quietly he frowns for a while before staying "oh your the girl with the rich dad and model stepmom in New York" he says "yup that's me" I say looking down at my book he didn't bother me for the rest of the class. 

*lunch*

At lunch I find lake and we sit with our usual group which was Amber who is referred to as "the dumb blond" because she's not the smartest I honestly do not know how she made it to sophomore year but she's the sweetest person once you get to know her. Then there's Riley who's actually quite popular he dose boxing that's why everyone knows him and he's actually one of the hottest guys in school he's been my friend since middle school and he honestly prefers hanging out with us rather than the popular people he thinks there just full of them selves. And last but not least there Jake he's kinda in the middle like me and lake he's in a band he's the lead singer and he's so good and he's the nicest person you will ever meet. 

"So guys how's your first day been so far" Riley says stuffing his face with pizza "mine has been pretty good so far nothing much has happened when's the drama gonna start" lake says sighing. We all laugh because whenever there's drama lake is always the one to inform us. "My days been ok to apart from the fact that I have to sit next to James Berry" I say picking at my salad Amber and Lake look at me with wide eyes "omg he's so hot your so lucky" Amber says "yeah your so lucky you should totally talk about us" Lake chips in. I roll my eyes "whatever" I say "yo what's so good about the guy he's a jock that's all" Jake says we all laugh. 

The rest of the afternoon went by quickly turns out I have 3 classes with James both lake and Amber think I'm super lucky. I walk into my house I see both my moms and Lucases cars aren't in the drive way so there probably at work. I walk in and grab a snack I was scrolling through my Instagram when I notice I got a follow request from @James_B I follow back and look through his posts. 

Damn now I know why he's popular he looks like a model. I hear the sound of the front door open I look up to see Lucas I sign and get up and go to my room. Let's just say i haven't got along with him since he moved in. I lay down in bed when I hear my come home "hunny come down dinner time" I sit at the table talking to my mom about my first day when she says her and Lucas have something that they wanna tell me. "So hunny me and Lucas have decided that we want to buy a new house" my jaw drops "what the hell why you can't do that this is the house where I grew up I'm not moving anywhere" I yell "well yes you are we are going to see houses at the weekend and your welcome to come" . I sign "so your going to move me away from all my friends and in my sophomore year how could you do this ugh" I storm up to my room I jump in bed crying and I just cry myself to sleep .
