Amara POV
It has been one month since the battle in Fireden. We stayed for a few days,, discussing the repercussions of the battle.
Isaac and Malachi had grown to respect each other, and my near-death experience seemed to bond them in a weird way."Isaac, my friend, take good care of our princess. We both know how she's a magnet for trouble." They share a laugh at my expense, shaking hands.
"Thank you for everything King Malachi. You kept her safe when I couldnt, and I can never repay your kindness.""Enough with the sappy shit, I'm ready to go home!" Malik teases, winking at me as he walks toward the docks.
Our remaining soldiers board some of Malachi's extra ships, as Isaac hesitantly follows me toward Ormr.
"What's wrong sweetheart, scared of my sweet dragon?" I tease as I scratch Ormr's scales, earning a rumble of content.Rolling his eyes he slowly approaches, grabbing her neck, and gently settles himself on her back.
"See, she likes you," I say as I climb in front of him, and his arms tighten around me. "Ormr, up. We're going home."***
Shortly after arriving back in Redmond, I am crowned Queen Amara Gracelin, and for once I dont dread being a ruler. I promoted Jim to head of the royal guard, and moved his wife into the castle so they can start their family, and we regularly have dinner together. Malik retired from military service, but I convinced him to stay on as one of my advisors, even if we argue constantly. The best part is, I get to marry the love of my life and rule by his side for the rest of our lives. It took some convincing to get Isaac to step down from his position, but I explained the president in my world was Commander in Chief, and he wants to rule as King in a similar fashion.
Today is finally our wedding day, and I take a deep breath, slipping a hand into Malik's arm. I wear a flowing white gown, a stark contrast to flame colored hair, which is braided intricately down my head. The door's open and I see Isaac, standing at the front of the room, more handsome than ever, giving me that lopsided grin of his. Beside him is Malachi, my best friend, and the closest friend I've ever had, smiling like an idiot.
We make our way down the aisle, and Malik gives me a kiss on the cheek before placing my hand in Isaac's.
"Damn Amara, you look incredible. Maybe I should have kept you for myself," Malachi teases, and I can only roll my eyes and smile.
"You charmer! Now, shut up and let me talk to my future husband!"
Isaac chuckles, mock glaring at Malachi. "Some friend you are, you dirty bastard." They chuckle again and Malik asks before walking off to the side, "Are you sure you're ready for this, lass? You'll have to put up with his dumb arse for the rest of your life," Malik says, and I give him a smile before turning back toward Isaac.
"I've never been surer of anything in my life." My life officially starts now, and I couldn't be more excited for the future.
