Chapter 1

A plain white canvas.

You have been staring at the pure white screen for as long as you can remember. The continiuous flicks of your digital pen just explained how unsettled you are. Running out of ideas is not exactly the correct description for your current state. To be more precise, perhaps let's say that the previous events kept wheeling into your head— that your mind has not been functioning well over the past few hours because of it.

"We can't avoid this..."

Those were your mother's words that night.

The audible ticking of the clock sparked your senses back to reality. Catching the long hand pointing at the latest hour, you grabbed your pen and began working.

You sucked in a deep breath and scolded yourself, "Wake your ass up, Y/n. Not the time."

Ha... another packed schedule for this week. Carrying on as a fashion designer for your own brand is already a passion of yours, but that doesn't mean you don't get stressed often.

"Ms. Lee~"

You fixed your papers on the table and glanced at the woman who entered your office. "Hey, how's the recent client?" You asked tiredly.

It was Zoe, your assistant. She's been in your corporate for three years and you're proud to say that the company is presently standing strong for nearly four years now.

Zoe smiled with a hint of timidity, as she made her way towards you. You found uneasiness in her expression.

"They're very excited and honored that you offered to craft their clothing by yourself," she said truthfully. "But CEO.."

You hummed in response as you skimmed through your drafts.

"Why did you offer to create their fit by your own?" She asked curiously.

Sighing quietly, you finished sketching a final draft then looked up at her, "That client is the daughter of Fika Studios." Zoe's mouth opened in realization.

"They've collaborated with me many months ago, right? It's a small deal to do such thing. They promoted our brand after all."

She nodded then grew quiet as she recalled how pretty the client was; it wouldn't be a surprise if the client turns out to be a model. Her father is a well-known fashion photographer anyway.

"Why did you come in," you mumbled out in query while she stood in silence.

"Oh. CEO, you can sense heartbeats right?"

The sudden question made your hand stiff and your sketching halted. You didn't reply nor give eye contact, just listened to her next statement.

"Can you please help me with something?"

You have divided feelings about having such capability. One part of you is grateful and glad sometimes, but the other part necessarily thinks it's quite bothersome and scary.
