october 2019 : in a minnesota rally trump promised to " not make the same mistakes as European countries " minnesota is home to around 52,000 somalis , which is the largest concentration in the country . the president promised to " give local communities a greater say in refugee polices " then bragged about slashing the country's cap on refugee admissions to the lowest amount in decades . " in the trump administration we will always protect american families first and that bad not been done in minnesota "
may 2018 : trump called immigrants " animals " at a meeting with reporters at the white house " you wouldn't believe how bad these people are " then said " these aren't people they are animals july
2015 : trump falsely claimed migrants bring disease into the us . " Tremendous infectious disease is being spread across the boarder " " the us has become a dumping ground for mexico and in fact many other parts of the world "
june 2017 : during a meeting to talk about us visas trump said people in haiti " all have AIDS " and that nigerian immigrants would " never go back to their huts " after experiencing the us
january 2018 : at a bipartisan meeting discussing protection for immigrants from Haiti , El Salvador , and African countries trump asked " why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here ? " then suggested the us should accept more immigrants from Norway and predominantly white countries
october 2018 : trump portrayed a migrant caravan as a violent threat to the US . " criminals and unknown middle easterners are mixed in " ( he tweeted ) he then called it an invasion , and a midterm campaign ad was so racist that even fox news refused to air it .
september 2015 : trump falsely suggested that syrian REFUGEES could be isis fighters in disguise
december 2015 : " Donald J. Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the US " trump said that at a rally in south carolina . his administration eventually implemented a travel ban on people from 5 majority muslim countries .
march 2020 : as the coronavirus pandemic invaded the country trump insisted on calling the disease " the chinese virus " playing right into old racist tropes
june 2020 : trump called Covid - 19 the " kung flu " at his tulsa , Oklahoma rally
may 2020 : at a press briefing CBS news reporter Wenijia Jiang asked trump why he continues to falsely claim the us was doing testing for the corona virus at higher rates than other counties . She asked " Why is this a global competition to you if every day americans are still losing their lives ? " in return trump deflected the question before asking Jiang ( who is a chinese american ) " they're losing their lives everywhere in the world and maybe that's a question you should ask China . Don't ask me that question , ask China . Okay ? " he then said that it was a " nasty question " then abruptly ended the briefing
june 2015 : trump launched his presidential bid with these infamous comments " when mexico sends its people they aren't sending their best , they are not sending you good people . they are sending people that have lots of problems and they are bringing those problems with him " he also said " they are bringing drugs . they are bringing crime . they're rapists , and a few , i assume , are good people "
june 2016 : trump argued that judge Gonzalo Cudel , an indiana norm judge , that was overseeing the lawsuit against the now defunct trump university - could be impartial because of his " Mexican heritage " he added " i'm building a wall it's an inherent conflict of interest "
february 2019 : in another tweet targeting warren trump mocked the Trail of Tears — which lead to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of native americans
may 2016 : trump referred to sen . elizabeth warren , who claimed earlier in her life that she has native american heritage , despite the lack of any known native americans ancestors , " pocahontas " he tweeted " goofy elizabeth Warren sometimes referred to as Pocahontas because she faked being native american is a lowlife " he used it in tweets at least 20 times sense and he frequently uses it at rallies — and vowed to revive the slur as warren continued her presidential campaign .
october 2016 : trump often acts like majority of black cities in the united states are war zones . " our inner cities are a disaster " he also said " you get shot walking to the store . they have no education , they have no jobs "
august 2018 : trump routinely deploys the racist trope that black men are less intelligent " LeBron James was jusy interviewed by the dumbest man on television , Don Lemon " he also tweeted " he made LeBron look smart , which isn't easy to do "
june 2020 : trump called anti - racism protesters " looters , thugs " and " other forms of lowlife scum " on twitter . later that month , in a campaign rally in tulsa oklahoma he called demonstrators in the city " thugs " even though police reports said that protests in the city had infact been peaceful
august 2016 : trump told black voters " your living in poverty , your schools are no good , you have no jobs 58 % of your youth is unemployed , what the hell do you have to lose ? " his claim was infact untrue on many levels , according the the Bureau of Labor Statistics , the unemployment rate for young black people at that time was only 19.2 %
october 2019 : trump called the impeachment inquiry against him " lynching " comparing the sancationed process to the extrajudicial murders of black Americans following the civil war . According to the NAACP , there were 4,743 recorded lynchings between 1882 and 1968. roughly 3 quarters of the victims were African American , with lynchings used as a weapon to terrorize the black community
July 2019 : after elijah cummings criticized the conditions of immigrant detention centers at the US mexico boarder trump called the congressman's maryland district a " disgusting rat , rodent infested mess " and " far worse and more dangerous " than the detention centers the district is majority black and includes a large section of baltimore .
