3. My Reputation Is At Stake

Maddy's Pov

I wake up to see three figures standing on top of me. Nurse Powell, Brody O'Neil and a cute guy.

Holy cow—

"How are u dear? Can you see me? Is your head paining?" She's not even giving me a chance to speak.

"Maddy are you okay? You fainted in the hallway." Brody says.

"I'm fine. I don't even know why I fainted or what happened." Yeah, like what happened over there Madeleine, aren't u supposed to know.

"It must've been because of lack of sleep dear. I always tell you children how important it is to get 8 hours of sleep and—" I don't hear the rest because she leaves the room and goes to her office.

"Uhhh Brody, coach just sent me a message. He wants to see me." I can't believe my eyes right now.

As soon as I opened my eyes I saw him, but I thought I was dreaming. Now I realize he is really here.

The guy I saw in the cafeteria yesterday!!!

But why is he here. Wait, is he worried about me? But he doesn't even know me.

Oh, he must be friends with Brody.

"Sure—

"OMG Maddy! What happened?!" Brody gets interrupted by my crazy friend, Jess.

"Uhhh, I'll see my way out, take care Maddy." And with that he's gone, leaving me and Jess alone.

"Talk girl, I need details." She demands.

"Oh, I was walking and then I just fainted. I don't even know what happened—"

"What! No! I wasn't talking about that. I was talking about this." She shows me a picture of Brody carrying me, bridal style, in the hallway!

"WHAT!" I myself am shocked after seeing this. How could I be so stupid. No wonder Brody was here, coz he brought me here.

Why would he be here otherwise, Brody and I don't even talk much. We just have one class together, and that's gym.

"No no no. Where did you get this from?"

"It's on Instagram, oh and with 100k likes by the way." She literally rubs it in.

"That means the whole school has it. Who even posted it." I won't spare that bitch.

"Brody did." WHAT! NO! I think I miss heard that.

"C'mon. I'm serious Jess. Who posted it." She must be kidding.

"It's Brody. I'm not lying. See," she shows me the name brody0neil.

"Look at the comment."

When your girlfriend faints.

"Why the hell did he say that. I'm not even his girlfriend." I thought he was a good person. I never realized he is a dick just like all the other boys.

Well, except for Keith and Ryan of course.

"Well, you got yourself a boyfriend just by fainting." I literally feel like hitting her with my bag. "Imagine what you'll get if you break a limb!"

I hit her with my bag, "Jess!"

"Ow, I was just saying. Anyways, Brody is cute so it really doesn't matter. Just let people think what they want." Now she has a point.

"Yeah, I'm not going to argue with the whole school for a stupid post." I rest my case!

"Bitch! How did you earn fame in 1 day?!" Trust Olivia to say that as she enters the room.

"No, Olive please don't start now." I'm tired.

"Okay, I'll spare u. But seriously, how did you do that?" She's seriously not being serious right now.

"I've been trying to ask her the same thing." Jess says.

"How should I know, go ask Brody, he's the only one who can tell you." I'm pissed but I also know they are just messing with me.

"Relax chic, we're just messing with you." Olivia says just as i predicted.

"I don't know what to do about Brody." What if he acts like my boyfriend in front of everyone.

"Just go with the flow. If you rebel things will get seriously ugly." I always knew Jess was the smart one.

"Yes, show him how we deal with things." Olive chimes in.

"OUR WAY!" We all say in unison.

Brody's Pov

I can't believe I did that! OK, I can.

I'm a scum so what. I'm just messing with Maddy. It's not like I like her or anything.

She'll probably scream at me tomorrow and ask me why I did all that, but I got it under control.

I know how to handle her.

"You are a douche bag," Luke curses at me for the hundredth time.

"Dude, quit acting like a pussy, it's just a prank. You're acting like you don't pull nasty pranks at your friends." Point to be noted!

"Okay, but this shit gone far. It reached the entire Caterson Burgville."

"It can reach the entire universe for all I care." I don't know why he's making a big deal out of it.

"Wait, why I you feeling sorry for her, do you like her or something?" He's acting weird, I have to know.

"NO!" He says it a little too quickly. Which makes it more suspicious.

"I mean no, I don't like her but, I do like her friend Jess, she a thick broad." He bites his lip.

"Ohh, I see." I'm amused.

"Yeah, and if you trouble her friend, it will ruin any chance of me being with her, you see." This no good bastard!

"I'm pranking Maddy not you."

"I know but we friends, so I'll have to face the consequences of your bad behavior." Pssshhhht, he's kidding.

"OK, I have a plan, which will make Jess fall for you." Honestly I don't have a plan.

"Really, what is it." What have I gotten myself into?

"I'll message it to you once I reach home."

"K, cool."
