Today is the day of the first challenge. I wished Harry luck and then proceeded to the stands before all the good seats were taken. The stadium hummed with excitement as the judges took their places arena side. I scanned the arena and noticed quite a few banners in support of the selected from each school. Cedric's face, of course, made frequent appearances in the sea yellow and black as well as occasionally across the Hogwarts supporters. Harry had much less support, although Luna had put on her Lion headdress that she used for Quidditch matches, which i suppose was in support of Harry. I noticed that the only banners and photos that could give the Hufflepuffs a run for their money, were Krum supporters. The same girls who had been following him around had convinced a couple of their friends to make a large replica of his scowling face, which, if i'm being honest, was just a touch creepy (ok a lot creepy). I wonder if he'd be intimidated walking out onto the pitch to hundreds of copies of his face? he's probably used to it because of the whole international quidditch star thing and also the fact that he's too focused on not dying.

The stadium erupted as Diggory entered. He tried to distract the dragon with transfiguration which i thought was a decent plan until the dragon decided he wanted Diggory instead. He survived but watching Cedric hurt himself made me worry about... Harry, yes that's who i need to be focusing on. The Beauxbatons girl, Fleur, went next. It wasn't as exciting as Cedric's round but i have to give her props, she's smarter than people give her credit for (i still don't like her that much but credit where credit is due).

Krum entered looking as stone-faced and determined as ever. He didn't even acknowledge the crowd and kept his eyes trained on the ground as he walked into the dragon's arena. I saw that he was facing the Chinese fireball which meant Harry would be up against the Hungarian Horntail, oh well. The dragon let out a stream of fire and Krum started moving. Though maybe not the most graceful mover, he was quick. He managed to hit the dragon squarely in the eye with a spell i didn't recognize. I'm not sure if this was genius or stupid because i sure wouldn't want to be running around with an angry dragon who can't see. Krum started moving towards the nest of dragon eggs, unfortunately so did the Chinese Fireball and Krum had to jump out of the way to avoid being crushed like the eggs. Eventually, he made it to the golden egg and finally looked up into the crowd as the judges made their decision. He caught sight of the giant replica of his face plastered across the crowd and frowned (ha). His scores were very good however, his expression never softened. He nodded and left the arena to the hoots of all his supporters. Before i knew it, Harry had entered the arena, and the process started anew.

I pushed through the crowd exiting the stadium to get to the medical tent. Harry had been injured, and although I've seen him survive worse, I felt I owed it to him to make sure he was okay. He was fine as i suspected but i congratulated him on his first-place finish (a tie with Krum) and then left to go back to the common room. I only made it a few steps before i crashed straight into Krum who was walking the opposite direction. I tripped forward slightly but Krum caught me by the arm before i caught myself. We made awkward eye contact and he smirked before nodding and letting go of my arm. I walked hurriedly out of the tent area, flattening myself against a tent to let the group of Ravenclaw girls with Bulgaria posters run past me after Krum.
