Coming Out- (Z.S)

Today was the day that Zola Shepherd was going to come out to her Mom as bisexual. Her very strict mom Meredith Grey. What could go wrong? Sure she could kick her out and she would be a homeless sixteen year old, but she could always stay with Uncle Alex and Aunt Jo, or Aunt Bailey. She had places to go, but these places had some sort of connection to her Mom so if she would go to any of those places she would be screwed.

'Stop thinking about what could go wrong!' Zola told herself. 'You can do this...be a warrior queen.' Zola took a deep breath and walked towards her mom.

"Mom can I talk to you please?" Zola asks quietly.

Meredith looks at Zola. "What is it Zo Zo?"

"I don't know how to tell you this." Zola says letting out a shaky breath.

"You can tell me anything. What's bothering you?"

"First I really want you to promise me that you'll love me no matter what I tell you."

"What did you kill someone?" Meredith jokes trying to lighten up the room.

"No Mom I didn't kill someone."

"Then what?"

"Mom I like girls and guys." Zola blurts out.

"That's it?" Meredith asks.

"Yes that's it. Please don't hate me."

"Zola honey I would never hate you. I'm proud of you for telling me."

"Wait really?" Zola asks surprised

"Yes Zo Zo." Meredith says looking at Zola.

Zola gives Meredith a tight hug. Meredith hugs her back.

"I love you no matter what Zo." Meredith says.

"Thank you." Zola says gratefully

"For what?"

"For being supportive and amazing."

"It's a mom's job."

"I love you mom."

"I love you too."

Meredith breaks from the hug with Zola. "So any cute girls you like?" She asks

"Mom stop." Zola says laughing.

Today went better then Zola thought it would.
