A/N: hey guys!!! I'm FINALLY doing a story in Percy's POV. also this is an AU story and it's OOC for both of them.

It was spring of third grade when I first met her. I remember during recess Nancy Bobofit and Drew Tanaka had just drawn eyelashes on my paper bag (which I wore every day to school to hid my face) and Clarisse was beating me up for something sassy I'd said to her. I was about to break down and cry when a girl showed up. She had beautiful princess curls and a California tan.

"Are you alright?" she asked.

All I could do was nod.

"Wanna play?"

I nodded. She and ended up telling me all about how she wants to be an architect when she grew up and how she wanted to redesign New York. The next day, for the first time in two years I didn't wear a paper bag over face. I let all the ugly scars and bruises show from nasty step-father, Gabe Ugliano. All to show the girl with princess curls what I really looked like, but she never came. I didn't see her again until seven years later.

It was sophomore year of high school. Smelly Gabe left my mom for some lady he'd met at a bar four years ago (which me and my mom celebrated with a feast of blue food) and she'd met Paul. And I was captain of the football team. Which to the other kids at school, meant I had to be a huge jerk and I hated it. I silently cried myself to sleep every night because of it.

I decided to go to homecoming with Piper, who ditched me for Jason fifteen minutes into the dance. When I went to go get some fresh air, I saw someone sobbing. no, not just someone, it was the girl from third grade. She was wearing a soaking wet gray dress and had make-up running down her face. When she saw me, she snapped.

"GET AWAY FROM ME JACKSON! I'M NOT IN THE MOOD FOR YOUR NAMES!"

"No you don't understand, I want to help you." I said, extending out my hand

She clutched her hand close to her chest. "How do I know can trust you?" Her voice cracked. I could tell she was trying hold back another sob.

"You shouldn't. I know I've been a jerk but let me make it right. Come on, I'm driving my mom's mini van, she has make-up wipes in the glove compartment." I extended my hand once more and she reluctantly took it. I showed here to the car, grabbed a wipe and started wiping off the make-up. She was so emotionally drained, she didn't protest.

"There. You look better with out make-up anyway." I said once I was done. "Hey, by the way, what is your name?"

"Annabeth." she said flatly.

"Annabeth" I repeated "Beautiful name."

"Way better then the ones you call me at school. wait, why are you such a douche bag at school?"

"I am what they tell me to be."

"Why be that, when you could be you. I will say, I like this version of you much better.''

"Maybe I'll try that sometime. Anyway I keep a hoodie and sweats in the back of the car, we can stop at a gas station and you can change, if you want?"

"That'd be nice." Annabeth said smiling.

We pull into the nearest 7-eleven. While she was changing, I grabbed some soda's and milk duds. Annabeth came out in my red football hoodie and gray sweatpants. I will say, she looked pretty.

"Um...wanna grab a candy? I'm buying."

She grabbed a Dove bar and we went to the counter. We handed the man our cash and headed out. When we got into the car, I fished my laptop out of the back and grabbed somE of the DVD's my mom kept in the car for Estelle.

"Ok let's see... we got UP, Lilo and stitch and Walle. Which one do you want watch?"

We ended up watching UP. It was weird, I was in my mom's beat up mini van with basically a total stranger but there was no were else I would rather be.

When the movie was over I drove Annabeth home.

"Hey Percy?"

"Hm?"

"There's something I should tell you- oh look look we're here."

I pulled into her driveway. It turned out she only lived two blocks away from me.

"Thanks by the way. I had a really good time tonight." And then she did the unexpected, she kissed me. Then she opened the passenger side door and hoped out. "Goodbye percy." She shut the door and walked back into the house. I probably sat there for five minutes trying to remember my name.

I came by the next day realizing I forgot to get her number. When I got there, there was a moving truck in the driveway. I ran to the front door and frantically rang the door bell but nobody was home. After that I stoped being a jerk at school, I didn't care what the other kids thought of me. And ever single day I wished the girl with the princess curls would come back.

I was touring around BYU Hawaii when I ran into someone.

"I'm so sor-"

Then I saw the hoodie she where wearing, it said 'Jackson 98'. I opened my mouth to Say something but she beat me to it.

"OH MY FLIPIN' GODS ITS YOU!!!"

I couldn't speak for a moment, then I started rambling. "I'm sorry I never called, I didn't have your number and when I stopped by your house and I saw the moving van and nobody was-" Annabeth hugged me to get me to shut up. tears were streaming down both of our faces.

"You know," I said passing her my phone "It's not too late"
